View Full Version : Late game equipment template
Greetings fellow Rangers. I haven't played EQ2 for quite a while but recently started again. Much have changed since I stopped playing and many new items are available. Now I'm about to upgrade my equipment - weapons, armor, jewlery - all of it. Could any high level Rangers please post their equipments, so I have some guidelines of what to look for? And if its not much trouble, please post which rares to acquire to have the pieces craftet if its player made. Thanks! --------------- Echtilion Level 51 Ranger Runnyeye

Weapons wise Id go for a pristine imbued cobalt slasher such as a creasant axe and a piercer like a sai or lleafblade, these use the T6 rare cobalt. imbued Ironwood bow (ironwood rare) and also either a T5 or T6 quiver for holding all those arrows. Jewlery the T6 imbued rings are nice, the rare ones are even nicer with a 22 AGI and STR buff and are made of vanadium. Another ring is Mogruff's signet, earring tactician's hoop, bracelet bracelet of the keeper, but at 51 there will be a lot of gear thats not equipable for you yet so if you got decent T5 gear you could use that and upgrade as you gain levels.

My personal choice is anything that has high STR on it so my gear leans towards that.

Weapons: imbued ironwood (rare) longbow is the highest priority, IMO. After that, cobalt slasher + piercer, at least one imbued. (I put my first rare cobalt harvests toward weapons, not armor.)

Armor: You can go for imbued indium chain for now (if you need / want to upgrade immediately), imbued cobalt chain as you gather the cobalt clusters. Personally, I stuck with my imbued ebon chain and skipped over indium.

Jewelry: Imbued vanadium (rare) rings of STR and AGI are great, +22 buff to those stats. The rest of my jewelry is quested or dropped stuff, FWIW.

Upgrades: Might want to read up on our 'ancient' skills that are accessible at 52 (Thorny Trap), 55 (Stream of Arrows) and 58 (Sniper's Shot). These are all very useful skills and you'll likely want at least Stream and Sniper's at Adept III. (Rough pearls or vanadium are used for ink to make Adept III upgrades.) Note that none of your post-50 skills will appear in your spellbook as you ding; you have to buy them at App2 from a Maj'dul court, or find them at higher levels on the broker. The ancient skills can only be crafted at App4 and Adept III, but you can find Adept 1's on the broker too.

Weapons: Agree completly with Jay

Armor: The age old argument of chain versus leather can come into play here. Ive gone with scaled leather for 4 pieces. Did not do it for the head, shoulders, and gloves, instead went with dropped or quested items that concentrate on agi and str. Came out cheaper for me at the time with the leather pieces as well, and I was able to harvest most of them.

Jewelry: If its been a while since you have upgraded jewerly, you might want to look into the none rare t6 jewerly. The stats are not that bad, 7 str - 7 agi - 6 sta if I am not mistaken. The imbued rings of agi and str both increase by plus 15 for the none rares. The rare stuff Jay explains well.

Dolls: Hex Dolls are great items, you can get the lower tier rare ones and they sit in your slot and give a + to a stat. T5 rare gives +12 with T4 giving +11 and T6 giving +13 and so on. They are actually castable and you can use them for that as well, but I have rarely used them for that as a ranger. I went all str with mine to increase dps.

Upgrades: Agree with Jay once again
