I'm 35th level but up to now have only ever used high damage up front low dot poisons but am now hunting heroic^ grouped creatures (solo) for heritages so need to power up a bit on the evidence of my last nights hunting.

Looking for info on what poisons I can stack and any suggestions as to specific names I need to ask for.

Unfortunately on Splitpaw there is a very small poison market so I need to get everything custom made and can't just stand there and examine them.

I primarily solo if thats relevant.

I'm still very much finidng my way as a ranger(36) after being a tank for a looong time, but by my understanding you can have 2 posions active at any one time - one damage type poison, and one debuff type poison. At 36 I religiously used 'Touch of the rotbone' - Rare Tier4 High Dot, Low up-front and 'Retribution of the sky' - Tier3 Crushing/piercing debuff, tho im planing on testing out a posion debuff instead to see how that goes. Some you might consider are: Rancorous Afflicion (High DoT,Low Upfront) Irrepresable Vexation (low DoT, High Upfront) Touch of the Rotbone (High DoT, Low Upfront Rare) Circle of Sanctuary (Low DoT, High Upfront Rare) Retribution of the Sky (Crushing/piercing resist debuff) Frantic Petulance(Poison/disease resist debuff)

I am very keen to make my ranger....well, more ranged. Can anyone recomend a good snare (I believe that's what you call them) that I could use in my late 20s? <edit> having read the above link, is there even a poisen/potion that has a snare/slowing effect, or did I misunderstand another post?

Message Edited by Mentla on 11-16-2005 01:56 PM

You cant have the same proc types together, eg. 2x 25%, only one of each type - 1x 25%, 1x 20%, 1x 15%

I am very keen to make my ranger....well, more ranged. You already have a snare CA I think at this level and you may also have a Arrow snare ability. Can't remember the names of these CA's.

having read the above link, is there even a poisen/potion that has a snare/slowing effect, or did I misunderstand another post?

Dont think so, but whats the point if you can snare already?

Message Edited by Mentla on 11-16-200501:56 PM

54 Ranger here.

You can stack 3 posions at any time. You can stack a damage potion, a debuff, and a misc debuff. If I am going full bore, I run with a high DD (Adestes Disruption 441 DD), Turbulent Misery (Posoin DEbuff), and then a stun or stifle potion. I sometimes also use a slashing piercing debuff. Yes, the proc chances are all different but what matters is that they are all different category posions not different proc chances.

Rangers get a snare line. I beleive the first one is called ensnare and we also get a bow CA that snares as well.

The only exception to the 25 / 20 / 15% rule is 15% damage poisons. They will overwrite 25% damage poisons. I usually think of it as 1 Damage, 1 Debuff, 1 "special". Special meaning stuns, stifles, slows and so on.

Message Edited by Stormhawk on 11-16-2005 08:50 AM
I <3 Adeste's Disruption. Getting seriously addicted to it. Switching to a lesser damage poison is such a letdown...
they just don't compare to my sweet darling Adeste... I miss you sweetheart, but daddy will be home soon, there there.

I have played with all kinds of combinations of poisons and have found that in most group situations I like to have a Very Large DD poison, a poison debuff and a stat buff for str/sta. This combination does a very good job of maximizing my damage output while in groups. The website www.eq2alchemy.com has some very good information on the different poisons and potions for each tier.

FYI - as a ranger it is a good idea to become friends with an alchemist (or make one yourself).

Fredethel

The other day someone linked a poison called something else that had the same exact dmg.
