Movement problem while kiting

<DIV>I have a problem when I'm kiting.  While backing up, when I left click any of my hot bars it causes my character to start running forward.  Anyone know how to fix this?  I'm using the default UI.</DIV>

I have the same problem, and it's horrible when just scraping by on a mob.  I've posted about this in the Issues thread at the top of the board, and I haven't seen any other mention of this in my casual lurking of the latest posts.  I've noticed that turning off Combat Auto Face Avatar helps somewhat, but it still happens... and not doing damage when I'm not facing a target because I'm so used to having it autoface isn't helpful either, so I have to choose. <span>:smileysad:</span> <div></div>

I do have auto-face off but I often have similar problems where it wants to reverse my direction or I stutter when I'm trying to backpedal. I'm assuming it has to do with the related combat options, but I haven't done any searching to see what might fix this. If anyone knows how to prevent it, post up here, I'd love to disable that screwy mechanic.

This problem drives me crazy as well.  I can't tell you how many times I have died from this.  Get an add during a fight, plenty of health and power to run away, but get stuck running the wrong way and end up dying.

Oh man - I would LOVE to hear about a way to fix this. I too, have died many times from the stuttering back peddle while trying to run from an encounter when I get too many adds. Bah :smileyindifferent:

Same problem here... it sometimes does that, or actually BOUNCE BOUNCE back and forth even if im trying to run teh opposite way... when i release the autoattack, it seems to help (char goes to right direction) for a few secs, then sunndely turns and charges teh mobs... <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Its especiall nice when you have rooted a large group and they happen to break off... running and trying to shoot SoA...
