Ascendance of Bows

<P>Teak long bows are quite nice, imo. I had one from lvl 40 to lvl 44, untill i found a cedar.</P> <P>Another question about bows, how come some long bows are range 37 and some are 35 ?</P>

I'm a 40th level Ranger and from about level 28 through 40 I used Stormfire that I got out of SH. I just purchased a pristine imbued cedar longbow and couldn't be happier. A lot of damage and seems to proc quite often.

<P>Any tier-appropriate imbued rare longbow is going to be a great choice. <P>the only thing i'd add to this is there are some fabled bows in tier 5 that are really good.  i have the player crafted fabled yew bow - +18 agi, +18 str - unfortunately it has no procs.   Other fabled bows are the Valian bow, and the soulsucker (least i think soulsucker is fabled).  Valian has a poison proc and i think +10 agi and str, soulsucker steals health from the target, not sure of stats.  Valian drops off the prismatic quest dragons including darathar, soulsucker drops off the soulsucker thingy in Nek 2 (seems rare tho)</P> <P>Of course access to these bows requires a raid force or that all important merchant quest /grin</P> <P> </P> <P>Edit:  what i meant was raids are required for the valian and the yew.  soulsucker can be obtained with a group</P> <p>Message Edited by theorbell on <span class=date_text>10-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:49 PM</span>

I used Pinewhisper from 40-50 or so.  But the quest starter is a pain to get......rare chest drop in EL.

I kinda of like the valian a bit better then ironwood on mobs under 60.  Just cause proc rate % is a lot higher <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Valian Bow is still the best bow in my opinion.  I do have an Imbued Ironwood bow to switch out for the 60+ named mobs that are immune to it but for everything else I use the Valian.  The 12% proc chance on it just causes alot more damage then what an Ironwood can do.
