<DIV>Hello,</DIV> <DIV> I've never been able to find any description explicitly about this, but reading through the forums I've seen it mentioned as an aside many times.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> When you imbue a bow - is there a higher percent chance for the proc to occur when using a long bow? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In the description for both long and short bows the Gleaming strike says it has a 5% chance to proc (which would seem to indicate that they have the same percent chance to proc). However throughout the forums people mention repeatedly that long bows have a higher percentage chance of procing. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks.</DIV>

Calculation is ((Weapon Delay / 3.0) * proc %). <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So ((7/3.0) * 5) = 11.66%</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sony developed the proc chance based on weapons with 3 second delays. So a 3 second delay weapon has a 5% chance to proc. Weapons with less than a 3 second delay have less than a 5% chance, but make up for that by having more chances to proc. Weapons with more than a 3 second delay have more than a 5% chance, this is to make up for a lower attack rate.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>This calculation really works in a rangers favor once they get their offensive stances that add a chance to proc per ranged attack (works on combat arts as well). It is a 30% chance so it comes out to actually be ((7/3)*30)=70% chance to proc per arrow launched. Very helpful with the triple fire line. If all 3 arrows hit you have a 34.3% chance of all 3 procing at the same time (.7*.7*.7). If there is a bow with a higher dly than 7.0 i would buy it in a heart beat cause most of a rangers dmg comes from combat arts anyway and not so much from actual ranged combat attacks. I have been playing an assassin but plan on switching over to a ranger very soon because of these little facts.</DIV>

What about poison proc chance?</DIV>

So far as i know it does. In my own personal assassin experience, poisons proc alot more when i used my ranged combat arts. As for the offensive stance proc, i have been told by some rangers i know that the same formula works for applied procs as well as the natural imbued procs. So it should give the 70% chance i calculated to proc the added effect granted via the offensive stance.

All I know is that with my new Imbued bow I proc almost every time on my opening salvo.. But my imbued sword has only procced once in many many fights. <div></div>

<P>And this is primarily the reason we will out dmg assassins. We use our bow waaaaay more, I myself us it 95% of the time. so with all this the proc chance is higher with our weps. poisons and stances. Assassins use their melee weps all the time so less chance to proc.</P> <P>Leoric</P> <P>Level 60 ranger</P>
