When will i start to do good damage?

Right now my ranger is 15.  I have a 17 brawler as well, and well, the brawler completely destroys the predator in dps.  I can safely say he does at least double, if not triple the damage.  And tanks 100x better.  Now i know im not the ranger yet, but thats what ill plan to do.  But its kind of depressing to be this weak this early.  Im just curious when i start to get the huge damage boost.  I hear that rangers/assassins are the top dps class for melee.  So when will i pass up the damage my brawler does? <div></div>

<DIV>When a ranger is higher level you will begin to dominate pretty mush cany class in damage. I remeber being around level 30 in runny eye and the guardian tanking for us is doing the same damage as myself. But the later levels you will see a huge improvement. I myself am a levle 60 ranger and I have several procs on me at all time with CA's that do huge dmg. To start off we have procs on us at all time. Our best passive proc is archers frenzy which has a 30% chance to do 500 dmg, than my poison is a 25% chance to do 472 dmg (with poison debuff on mobs it can do over 500 dmg) than there are procs from weapons, roughly 300 dmg gleaming strike proc, prismatic proc dmg or imbued weapon do a few hundred than I also have my shield which procs good dmg and decreases mobs STR by 35.  So your looking at 5 different procs there on any given hit. (and with archery these proc very often more so than meleeing the mob). So when using a spell like triple fire each arrow will hit for say 200, 400 than 600 dmg. than with procs going off with each arrow than one shot alone on average does over 3k dmg easy. We than have stealthy fire which is about 2k dmg, than dire blade which is almost 2k dmg, snipers shot is 6k dmg but 15 min timer. Culling the weak which is 1400 dmg roughly, than other bow attacks that will do anywhere from 300-800 dmg. so take all these add procs to each one and auto attack archery inbetween and your looking at HUGE dmg. we also get a great spell at lvl 55 which allows us to shoot an arrow every 1.5 seconds that will do about 600 dmg and procs a hell of alot. so on average with this spell you can easily do 1000 dmg every second for 30 seconds. than recast again 30 seconds later once you have used up all your CA's again. So in the end ranger DPS is one of the very best in game and you can definately look forward to some improvments. Not to mention soloing ^^^ mobs is pretty easy once you have all your spells. <div></div>At 18 to 20 you will start getting the CA's that are the bread and butter of rangers.  I strongly suggest upgrading those as possible (they are worth it!).  You will notice a steady dps increase from 20 on and at 35 my ranger does seriously impressive amounts of damage, both with a bow and with hand weapons.  As for tanking, rangers don't do that well and mine still doesn't...but thats no big deal considering the fact that most mobs are dead or near dead by the time they get to him <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span>  Just hang in and keep working on him if that's the class you enjoy.  It gets lots better. <div></div>
