Totally loving the new combat changes, yes kiting was sacraficed but who cares, we are now a true DPS class that will be wanted in groups. Also damm good solo'ers as well.I love the new stances we have, lots of fun to go all out in grps , though going to need to control my itchy bow finger I think, even with the hate reduction skills.Rejoice rangers, cause we have arrived!

I'm really excited about these changes and I'm glad I've come back to the game. As for Lunging Thrust, I like the change especially since dots don't break Cheap Shot now.  Crippling Arrow + Pick Off is a very nice debuff setup then all you need to worry about it pure damage. <div></div><p>Message Edited by Stormhawk on <span class=date_text>09-15-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:12 PM</span>

<P>I really need to try solo arena on difficult or very difficult, because when I tried it in normal none of the mobs could seem to find me before they found the floor. Including the champ. Cheap Shot has suddenly become our most important CA, and snares now work, each of which make that great big arena zone an easy place to perfect the new incarnation of kiting. My fights tend to start out with Culling the Herd because it has a greater speed reduction than some of the others, then during the mob's run I'll hit any combination of Storm of Arrows, Debilitatiing Arrow, Triple Fire, or Sharp Shot. I then hit Cheap Shot, back up a few steps, an either use the two above-mentioned that I didn't fit in before the mob got there, or I'll use Surveil/Hidden Fire (took Master 2 on Hidden Fire, as I already had master Triple Fire). If the mob(s) have anything left I usually just melee them to death. This arrangement works so fast that me that I can usually only use Hidden Fire every other fight because it hasn't reset by the time I need it again.</P> <P>Hask, 50 Ranger 51 Weaponsmith</P> <P>Officer of Advent of Valor, Neriak Server</P>

<P>Well I tried Solo Arena last night and kicked butt vs solo mobs but got my backside served to me on a plate by the 3 mob group(dwarf gnome teirdal) - Didn't even get to see the champ <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Gonna try it again today to see what happens.</P> <P>All my new DPS is great but trying to kill three mobs didn't work even with the new cheap shot. I can see I may now have a chance vs the Champ but against 3 it sucked. My best attacks dont work when you have 2 other mobs involved. </P> <P>My strategy on solos was this:</P> <P>Opened up with stealthed <FONT color=#ffff00>Hidden Shot</FONT> - in the Arena I found I only had time for one arrow CA before being closed in on by the mob.</P> <P>Followed with <FONT color=#ffff00>Cheap Shot</FONT> - stuns a mob beautifully now <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>ducked behind mob and whacked em using a CA which gives stealth (sorry forget it's name)</P> <P>finished with I think <FONT color=#ffff00>Crippling Blade</FONT> (the up to 800 melee damage one)</P> <P>rinse and repeat as often as I could with a few other CAs thrown in.</P> <P>It worked great!</P> <P>Now! <P>Must Kill the healer 1st then the Drow spell caster and finally the dwarf...</P> <P>Might want to start with Backshot/Sniper Variant as it slows the mob - that way you can kill the healer b4 you get to melee...</P> <P>Then Stun the Drow and do you back attacks...</P> <P>The dwarf by himself is cake...</P> <P> </P>
