I'm a mid level ranger and wanted to see what you high level guys are gonna take to Master II. Example is that some (well, prolly most) skills are upgraded so would not make much use to waste a Master II on.

Thanks in advance!

I think most will simply be looking at which of the 4 they don't already have as Master 1 or Adept 3. Thats what I will likely be doing.

toss up between hidden fire which is about 300 more damage than adept3 and blazing thrust as I only have that at adept1, im thinking as thrust will be our normal quick backstab spell I'll go for that.

At 34 I'm having trouble deciding between the attacks and the new salvaged arrows which gets you 65 Feyiron Arrows. The attacks will be useless eventually I would guess, but the Feyiron arrows will probably always be helpful. Any suggestions on what to take at 34. Im currently 36 so that attacks are still useful. If they weren't I'd take the feyiron arrows in a heartbeat.

i chose the makeshift feyiron arrows for a backup but im not sure is arrow type like last time and not taken into consideration for our CA?

I'd hold off on the arrow skills. I just logged in and have 'backup quiver' which summons fulginate arrows (8 of them at apprentice 1 ). If that scales nicely the higher you go with adepts, there'd be little reason to waste a master II on it.

*edit* oh, and your default attack is the only one which uses the arrow type to determine dmg. Your styles are all based off of the style itself, not the arrows used. Stances seem to have a big effect on your default attack and the dmg output of the different arrow types when not using skills/styles/spells.

Message Edited by Warspawn on 09-13-2005 02:31 PM

Wow, if its only the ranged auto-attack that considers arrow type, there's little reason to worry about what arrows to use. I rarely use any auto ranged attacks. Are there any skills later on that might use auto-attacks?

Good point if you're soloing, but I'm one of those people who hates soloing and rarely if ever does it. When I'm in groups I never switch from auto-melee to auto-range as the auto-range is too slow for the brief amount of time, if any, I'm out of range, and I never pull anything.
Message Edited by HarlequinJD on 09-13-2005 10:51 PM

I also took feyiron at master 2. I figured it will help in a bind. I do plane on using fulginate most of the time, but 60 arrows is nice in a pinch...

Master 2 Leg shot (62% slow) and Master 1 ensnare... mobs move really slow But hey I never said the K word

I'm at work so I'm not positive but I think the master 1 Ensnare is still in the 3x% range, I bought it for the heat debuff they added to it in the expansion... for 60 gold I might add

I took the Leg Shot Master 2. I already had Culling the Herd and Triple Fire at Adept 3, and I'm really loving the snare and fast reset on the Leg Shot.

The slow is so amazing you can "kite" without running all over the place for even con mobs. and a quick cheap shot and few more bow attacks will make short work of the exceptions.
