I compliled this list myself a few months ago, when all of my moves where adept 1... it basically outlines that Rangers slow targets versus Assassins debuffs etc. I hope its helpful My 50 Ranger USED CA's 10 SECOND REFRESH CA's (all melee) 1. Deadly Reminder: AGIL debuff, DoT, 61-101, 73, then a 49 DoT 2. Longshank: 269-448 melee dmg, SLOWS target by 35% (places me in to sneak, so i can follow up with its paired 10 second sneak attack, tanglethorn) 3. Tanglethorn: Inflicts 387-646 melee, debuffs AC bt 700ish, SLOWS target by 20% 4. Snipe: AGI, Def debuff more popularly known as the mages HO flipper... [Removed for Content] 5. Blazing Thrust: duel magic/heat dmg 6. Survival of the Fittest: 350-500 melee, debuffs AC STA 60 SECOND REFRESH/ ARCHERY CA's 1. Crippling Blade: (the ranger nuke) SLOWS target by 20%, inflicts 715-1192 dmg 2. Natural Selection: My only AoE SLOWS target by 19% does dmg 3. Culling the Herd: (our ranged heavy hit) SLOWS target by 24% 719-1198 dmg 4. Sharp Shot: SLOWS target by 35% inflicts duel 250-400 heat dmg 5. Leg Shot: SLOWS target by 35% 5. Triple Fire: Does not slow, inflicts 3x 250-450 dmg 6. Debilitating Arrow: Debuff, does not slow 7. Hidden Fire: 800dmg 8: Trick arrow / Miracle Arrow: fluffs, ones a 100% blame, others a shot that does not require LoS MISC SLOWS: 1. Stalk Prey: my sneak, cast ensnare upon break, slows target 35% 2. Entrap: a snare slows target by 35% So out of 14 CA's I use, all of which are displayed in Adept 1 quality (upgraded since then =)), 7 Slow the target. Melee: My top two hits, which are definitive my DPS, Longshank --> Tanglethorn slow the target a totaly of 55%. My ranger nuke, Crippling Blade, which is on a 60 second refresh, slows the target 19%. Thus if played out right I can slow a target up to 74% in a matter of 8 seconds. Ranged: Ranged: Wow JUST about all of my Ranged attacks, which make me a RANGER slow the target. These moves pull our DPS and are crucial to the ranger, as they pull our DPS up to acceptable levels. 3/4 of my Dmg moves slow the target as well. The Jist: Rangers Slow the mob, that seems to be our speciality PS if you have any corrections PM me or post here, and ill do what i can. Enjoy!

I would love to start seeing mobs actualy fleeing at low health to round up their buddies to help.

Snares are only worthless if you don't do any kiting.

snares are ok if kiting, other than that useless...

also, ive noticed that many effects just dont land, or they do succeed very rarely
which doesnt help teh darn snares uselesness at all

++Xan
(lvl 50 ranger on Oasis)

Here is the thing with snares:

a) These snares never show up in the maintained spellls window, infact the ONLY one that shows up is the Impede/Ensare line, and the Snare that is a result of Ensnaring Blade (LongShank). So how do we know they are working.

b) Once a Mob takes Damage, the Snare breaks 99% of the time, heck if the mob is DEBUFFED the snare breaks. When Kiting, I am doing Damage every 5 seconds. 5 Second Snare = Useless

c) These slow movement speed, not attack speed. When was the last time you saw the Tank Kite around the mob you are fighting so your snares could actually do something.

d) Dont even Work on Raid mobs anymore.

e) When Soloing the Combo of Short Duration, High Recast and Instant Breaking on Damage sadly makes a Pristine Imbued Hex Doll's "Hex of Shadows" a far superior Snare.

Really wish the Devs would comment on this one. Seems like snares are a major part of our abilities and yet they are for the most part usless. Would be nice to see more spells along the lines like the one from Bloodline (self haste forget the name) or an actual root. With the anti kiting code seems silly to me to have a spell that encourages you to kite like a snare. I was very disappointed with the SP spell woohoo another snare that rarely roots but breaks when you attack. Although the animation is kinda cool.
