Is it just me or is anybody else missing ALOT with CA's recently? While soloing (mostly dieing) in SP & Zek recently, I can get an even con solo mob to around half life with my bow CA's, but once the mob closes the range, I'm toast. I start a HO and miss with 4 CA's, flip the HO, wait for skills to refresh, then miss with 2 more CA's & watch as the HO timer runs out & my life drops to the red. Even using poison, bow kiting a little at the start of the fight, using the stun & backstab trick and wearing imbued armor, I'm still dropping to yellow or orange life against blue & green solo mobs & dieing to white & yellow mobs more often than not. As much as I love my ranger, I'm starting to get disgusted with him.

<DIV>I've noticed the same thing. I haven't checked my combat logs to see if the attacks are getting parried or if they are just missing. Nonetheless, it does seem that something has changed.</DIV>

I also have noticed a lot of missing with the CA's I'm using. I was just thinking my gear was getting out of date and therefore my stats were sucking : / .

<P>I have noticed this as well and not just on my ranger character either. </P> <P>But it did cost me the arena today when I missed 4 in a row on the champ and pop a coin to wait for refreshes and then missed two more in a row before he killed me. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

<DIV>I first noticed I was missing so much when I couldn't finish an HO. I don't want to sound dumb but... when are the combat changes going to go live?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lets hope that the next patch helps us rangers out a lot.</DIV>

<P>I have definitely noticed an increase in missing lately especially with my bow CA's. Doesn't seem to matter what type of arrows I use either from makeshift to player crafted fulginate arrows of all types nothing seems to want to land. My melee CA's seem to be doing ok though I'm pretty sure they seem to be hitting less as well. IT really really bothers me to in the course of a fight have Triple Fire (adeptIII no less) to miss 2 or 3 times or more if on a raid and a lot of my other abilities that use to hit a lot just aren't hitting. I mean I was use to missing sometimes or with Triple Fire getting a hit with 1 or 2 of the arrows and missing with the 2nd or last one but it is freaking redicules I got out dps'd by a damned Fury the other day 4 or 5 times because I couldn't hit jack and here I am going on 50 for a month now best buyable gear out there, good arrows, and max skill. Don't get me wrong Fury's can really lay it on sometimes, but I've grouped with him before and I out dps him all the time everytime up until the other day. Not sure if anyone noticed this either but my poison's seem to be procing less and so are my weapon proc's normally where I'd see 1 or 2 poison proc's and a weapon proc on a now rare successful Triple Fire salvo I'm lucky to see one proc of any kind even swipe from blade flurry. I don't know what happened or if maybe somehow I've just been coming up with all fumbles lately but it definitely isn't all that great. One thing I will say though is that most of this has been against yellow or lower conned mobs I don't see much stuff orange or higher at 50 specially since what raiding I do can barely be called raiding. However, a couple days now in a row I've been doing groups in splitpaw for the herioc arena and we have been choosing very hard which gets us mobs that are orange and even red con. Doing this instance a couple of times each day I've noticed that I hit and proc like mad on oranges almost like I used to before this wierd funk or nerfing I'm in now where I seem to miss as much as I hit with my CA's. That just struck me as odd that a mob conning orange I seem to rip apart while yellow con and lower have time to sip tea and eat scones while I plink away hoping my CA's hit. At this point I'm almost afraid of the proposed melee changes for 2 reasons: 1 SOE has the inexplicable ability to completely screw the pooch and destroy a melee system I found fun up until recently and 2 I'm concerned about a large change that is going to make me a newb again and take a week to get used to although if it is a good change I think I won't mind. Ok Ok so make it 3 reason's with this one being more of an echo of the first thing I said except specific to being a ranger: God Oh GOD don't let them mess up archery or nerf it so bad that we become just another mediocre melee class with a few neat trick shot's in our pockets hehe.</P>

i also notice that i miss more often than bevor lu11. and, i guess i'm producing far more aggro than bevor lu11!recently i've grouped with several constelations of tanks. monk, paladin or berserker, no mather, after some bowshots i have aggro. i switched to 1hs weapon and shield. i waited with bowshots until mob is on 50% health. i use evade and shadow as often as possible. anyway, bowshot = aggro (bye far more often than bevor lu11).paralel to my aggro problem, i noticed that i hit less often with my bowshots. especially trible fire misses very often (on adept1) vs any kind of mobs. no matter if heroic or solo. melee ca hit most of the time, at least i didn't explicitely notice any change. but i confess, i'm almost only taking note of my bow shots. (btw: lvl 44 ranger, 220 agi)greets
I've also noticed that my CA's don't hit as often with this latest update. Poisons don't seem to proc as much but I'm not as sure about that as I am about the CA's. I haven't noticed any aggro changes. I'm a level 30 Ranger.
<throws hat in the ring> Me too. Sad, but I definitely notice I'm not hitting as consistently in either ranged or melee. I thought it was just a bad run of luck, but I keep having to try two or even three times to land a HO - that's just not normal. I've missed more HOs in the last three days than I've missed in the previous 40 levels. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please /petition this!! No patch notes ever read "your attacks will no longer hit as often," so let's not assume it was intentional. I dunno when the new combat system will be released, but let's just hope we're not seeing a preview of it already. (That happened with another class recently - don't remember who, but some change that was being tested for the combat update was inadvertantly released early, and made it into the live servers. Bad scene...)</DIV>

Happened to Guardians, our defensive and HP buffs wouldn't stack, it was terrible. I agree that there is a lower frequency of successful hits... =/

I'm glad to hear it's not just me. I was thinking my equipment wasn't quite up to par, so I spent half a plat upgrading. It helped a little, I could kill some of the green solo mobs that used to beat me down. If this change is intentional, this game just lost much of it's attraction to me. If anybody from SOE is reading this, can you tell us what's going on please?

Wow, and I thought it was just me. Soloing anywhere has gotten much harder for me as my bread and butter attacks are no longer landing or only landing a percentage of the time. I used to be able to solo in rivervale without a issue, and now im getting smacked up by con of the same color. <div></div>

<P>I've noticed this as well. It's pretty sad when a level 46 gnoll bruiser can kill a level 48 ranger. I shouldn't *have* to bowkite a "solo" mob that's two levels lower than me. But that's what happens when I can't hit them.</P> <P>Incidentally, it seems to me that it's not so much that the miss rate has increased as it is that mobs are parrying/blocking CAs *much* more than they used to. I say this because I haven't noticed any problem when I'm attacking from the mob's flank. It's just when I'm duking it out face to face that I can't land CAs.</P>

I'm going to clear my parser and start over fresh to see what my average CA hit percentage is knowing that it use to sit around 95%ish from as far back as I can remember and since started missing a lot its gone from about 95% hit to 87.6% hitting. Since it includes the majority of data from before the missing started I am guessing that roughly my average CA hit percentage is now around 75 to 80% instead of good ole 95%ish hehe. In the end maybe though we were hitting to much or something I think that in eq1 my SK was doing good if he had an average of 50% hitting and think rangers were at 60% or something around there I know it was different and my point being maybe we were never supposed to hit that much but if that is the case melee revamp had better be [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] good or there is no reason to stick us in the second dps bracket.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As to why you got beat by a 46 gnoll brawler type when you were at lvl 48 maybe you need new gear don't mean to be a butt hole but I can straight up melee most things that are white con solo even yellows and yes that includes brawler types though I will give you the fact that brawler types are the only melee type I hate to have to fight lol. As for caster types I don't touch them unless its with a Culling the Herd or Sharp Shot followed by a Triple Fire hehe they rip us rangers up. Like I said I meant this more as constructive rather than something to be mean. :smileyhappy:</DIV>

<P>Noticed this too. I found that if I used all of my buffs before the fights that it helped quite a bit. Takes longer between fights, but worth it if you really need it.</P> <P>I haven't had an HO expire on me in the last months, then all of the sudden I am missing a bunch. This needs to be fixed.</P> <P> </P> <P>K</P>
