Well do they? I've been trying to find out for a long time. After reading this board and chatting to people in game i thought they dont stack. You can have as many poisons as u want "active" but only one of them will proc, then when the first one runs dry the next one will kick in and then the next and so forth. Is this the way it works?

Thanks

For the most part, you are correct. Only one damage poison will proc at any given time. However, you can stack debuff poisons on top of damage poisons with very beneficial results. A popular method is to use a poison debuffing poison on top of your damage poison. This will allow the damage poison to be much more effective.

I stack 3 types of poisons atm....

Dmg

Debuff

Instant effect (stun)

But the key is to get them to stack you need to use the highest percentage proc first.

EG:

25%

then

20%

then

15%

Thats the order I use them in and they stack nicely. IF you stack them in any other order it will wear off prematurely at least on one of the poisons.

Message Edited by StealthM0de on 07-02-2005 08:15 AM

Bada Bing! StealthM0de nailed it. I don't always use an instant effect poison, but when I do, I stack them as Stealth suggested. And, Cat's advise is excellent. Don't underestimate the usefulness of a good debuff poison.

Can you explain a little further?

Do you mean you use

1 Dmg

1 Debuff

1 Stun

?

I'm not sure what you mean by in order of % proc in relation to this setup.

Do you mean you use more than 1 poison of each type, stacking in order of the % proc?

Stack by percentages highest to lowest. When you examine a poision is shows a "25 percent chance to...", "15 percent chance to...", etc. Damage poisons are always 25% so load that one first. And only use one of each type of poison (Damage, Debuff, Instant Effect).

At level 50, the poison/disease debuff is Turbulent Misery. (The heat/cold, mental/divine, magic/slashing debuffs are also listed at EQ2 Alchemy.) I don't see a Stun listed, but all of the poisons made from rares proc at 15%; these are also listed at the site. Examples of tier 5 poisons made from rares are souped up damage poisons like Decrepit Stab, and debuffs to intelligence/wisdom, stifle, and slow.

tried this myself with withering spirits (large DoT) turbulant misery (poison debuff) happy to report all seems well :smileyvery-happy: although i wasn't recording poison damage (too lazy) poison damage was working, and seeing as the debuff wore off as well, i'm assuming both were connecting is there a combat log line for the debuff poison connecting?

Might be a dumb questiong, but by stacking order do you mean to stack them in order you have to use in order? If so then when one wears out you have to then reuse all three over again?
