Hi, I'm a level 18 predator, hoping to make Ranger this weekend.  I've been using my bow more each level, and have been hit with the "missing components" thing a few too many times.  I was wondering if there are any quivers in game that would allow us to auto-load stacks of arrows, rather than just being limited to the 99 I can fit in my default quiver.  I didn't play a ranger in EQ1 (cleric and druid) but I swear that there was some kind of item that carried range weapons/ammo.  It's frustrating to have to keep checking on my quiver .. it'd be much nicer if I could just stock up before venturing off into the woods, and not have to think about it for the rest of the session. Thanks in advance for any information about this - I'm sure it's been discussed previously, but my search for "quiver" on this forum only turned up 1 hit, and it wasn't what I was looking for.  Also, just out of curiosity, is the old Ranger's Glade still around?  My cleric was with Sunmoon on Veeshan the first time he ever kited a giant ... Just wondering if he still plays =) Juul Ekiloretu Half-elf Predator Antonia Bayle <div></div>

Nope. You just have to keep checking your ammo supply ;( <div></div>

<DIV>Actually, there is a small custom UI addition that puts your AMMO Slot icon on your desktop. I tuck mine away in a corner, but can see it at all times without having to open up my Inventory. Go check it out.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<P>A Quiver for arrows! How very realistic and in the grand spirit of RP.  Tell me Juul, do you think your scout is holding 99 arrows in his hand while duel weilding? Not that I wouldn't love to have  just one more advantage over all the other classes...but an unlimited quiver? Come now, how many mobs do you honestly go through before you need to reload? Be honest. Level 31 ranger here who loves to let the arrows fly in battle. BTW...you can reload on the fly in battle as soon as you get that message.</P> <P>Noceth-</P>

Right, because all fantasy games are OH SO VERY REASLISTIC in all of their particulars. Jesus.  It was an innocent newbie question.  Don't worry, I won't make that mistake again. <div></div>

Hey Juul , Come anytime with a newb question.  Much preferable to a lot of the pessimisms from some of the ol salts around here!! (not pointing fingers at rangers, more directed at all the boards in general ) <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

Juul, just post your questions here, some are happy to answer them in a constructive matter <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> As to realisme: well, then why are my makeshift, rip and tear arrows not directly put in my ammo slot. Makes more sense because that is what a ranger would do when his ammo has space for it. in EQ1 they gave that option after a long while. I don't want an endless quiver (actually i do <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) but auto equip would be nice. When i can force feed/drink then why not force ammo reload.. Be safe and behave! Mohdey <div></div>

<font size="2">Hey Juul, don't bum because of one thoughtless reply.  EQ did ahve quivers (I played a ranger there) but EQII doesn't.  Running out bugs me too and I've died many time because of it.  I would just ak that other fellow where to get that UI?  It sounds like thae answer to a lot of probs!<span>:smileywink:</span></font> <div></div>

As long as the arrows are the same type you can just double click the stack in your bag to refill your arrows to 99, don't see how you can run outa arrows, but you can refill in-combat if you do

<font size="2">I will often burn way over a hundred arrows fighting epic mobs with a group or raid.  I also sometimes use over a hundred when kiting group mobs. <span>:smileywink:</span></font> <div></div>

<DIV>Playing a ranger in EQ2, and having played a ranger for a long time in EQ1, I am glad someone else is asking this question! Questing or crafting quivers in EQ1 had a real point - they actually contributed to the speed with which you could fire your bow (anyone else have fun hunting those highland lions in Northern Karana?!). Quivers would be entirely sensible and would certainly help create a sense of class definition for those who like to imagine themselves into the part - even if they were basically a separate container for our arrer stacks!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ker</DIV>

You just woudnt have to load em manually... i usuallu check before battles how many arrows i have left, since its annoying to start opening inventory and dragging arrows in mid battle... it doesnt take that much time... just annoys <span>:smileywink:</span> ps. didnt play eq1 so i have no clue what the quivers were in there ++Xan (lvl 47 ranger in Oasis)<p>Message Edited by xandez on <span class=date_text>06-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:34 PM</span>

I'm just relieved that some people (whether they played EQ1 or not!) understand what I am talking about =) Juul <div></div>

<P>quivers in eq1 were broken, you could use as many arrows as you wanted and they would auto load, why can't it be broken in eq2?? =/</P>

<DIV>First, I'd like to apologize, because I accidentally clicked on your post instead of that [Removed for Content] who complained about particulars... and I gave it a 1 star.  Sorry =(</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That aside, I will just say that I designate a bag for arrows so that I can load quickly.  It serves as a false quiver.</DIV>

<DIV>i never leave home without 30 stacks of arrows, whenever i am home i refill my huge collectors pouch</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>mobs like tundra terrors or the giants in ls or perma have tons and tons of hp and ill use 2-3 stacks of arrows killing one of them</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>that's 2-3 times i have to open bags while im running backwards and being chased by something that can kill me pretty fast, often near lava or cliffs or other mobs jsut as tough and move a stack of arrows...realism? let me put down this bag of 2970 arrows and ponder that...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i have to assume that they will certainly add quivers at some point or increase the number in a stack or simply make our bow pull directly from our inventory so we dont have to equip arrows at all, i think one would be daft to think that they wouldnt and im sure its just a matter of time</DIV><p>Message Edited by turdal on <span class=date_text>06-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>07:40 PM</span>

My own personal idea is to have player crafted endless quivers. I'd like to see it work like this:Each tier would have:1. Standard player crafted endless quiver, with the quality of the combine effecting the dmg potential of the arrow.2. Rare player crafted endless quiver, these could either have a % chance to proc or simply use arrows such as feyiron/fulginate depending on what tier the quiver is.3. Rare player crafted endless quiver - with a imbue used (tooth, flower, stone) effecting what type of arrows are used i.e piercing, crushing etcThis to me seems a fair way of implementing these. Rangers get something they need and woodworkers/tailors get a useful recipe across all tiers. At the moment nobody is ever going to buy arrows because the shear amount that we use makes it impossible.

<P>Hi Juul...</P> <P>I am a 36th level Ranger on Perm good and, even if not the BEST solution for the out-of-arrows syndrome, I have used the following since I learned to kite:</P> <P>Place a stack of arrows in the inventory slot on the very right hand side (directly under the ammo slot) and when you run out of arrows just hit "i" and then double click on the stack then "i" again. That will reload your ammo slot almost instantly.</P> <P>Good hunting</P> <P>Zeeman</P>
