View Full Version : Imbued feysteel and other weaponry issues
<DIV><FONT size=2>I had the good fortune to harvest a feysteel cluster two nights ago. Woot!</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>So given that I already have a couple glimmering items, I'm going to have an imbued feysteel weapon made. I'm thinking a short spear - currently using a feyiron one and I really like it; compliments the PGT well. But there some additional, long-term considerations. For one, I like having one piercing and one slashing weapon, but SBD (which I don't have yet, but will) is piercing, and my new spear would be too. I know a lot of people stick with the PGT even after it grays out, so maybe I shouldn't worry about whether my new imbued weapon w/b slashing or piercing...?</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Also, this weapon will con white to me at level 40, and I'm 36 now. Because it's an imbued rare, it will be more effective for a longer time period, right?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Thanks for the help <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></DIV>

<DIV>I carry three feysteel imbued weapons and a PGT. It really comes down to what your preferance is and the situation. The Imbued feysteel leafblade is higher dmg but slower than the Imbued feysteel dagger. Stats are close between the two. The Imbued feysteel short sword is pretty much the same dmg/speed as the leafblade but stats are differant when it comes to agil etc but of coarse is slashing vise peirce. My theory is this and what I use....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>PGT + Imbued Feysteel Dagger = Random/Regular fighting with my wife's Warden as a duo</DIV> <DIV>PGT + Imbued Feysteel Leafblade = Full group with a good tank and the leafblade is primary for uber stealthed dmg hits</DIV> <DIV>PGT + Imbued Feysteel Short Sword = Fighting a named that is semi or fully resistant to piercing attacks</DIV> <DIV>Imbued Feysteel Leafblade + Dagger = Fighting a named that doesn't is semi of fully resistant to slashing attacks</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A few things to consider while you look at this too, I often tank when playing with my wifes warden, so i go for as much dmg as fast as possible to hold agro from her.... When grouping I go for high dmg but slower to have good dps but not attention grabbing fast dmg that tends to grab agro from a average or less tank.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Look at your procs too. it has been stated that slower imbued weapons have a slightly adjusted proc rate, add that to a PGT and an imbued bow as well and the added dmg really flies. And then there are the posions...again its really trial and error for the style you play and what you as a player and the circle of people you play with often as to what will work for you. One thing for sure, things change pretty well as you lvl. I have had to change things up several times due to spell and changes with dmg and avoidance changes the game has made as well as the mobs you fight as you lvl. Give your self options. Thats why I carry so many toys.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Be safe, Hope it helps</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<div></div><font size="2">Hiya Jay. I have been fortunate and I also carry PGT + 3 imbued feysteel weapons with me at all times. Personally, I carry the leafblade(which i use mostly in groups, consequently the most), the crescent axe, and the spatha(+8 or 10 agi iirc). I switch these out depending on the mob's resistances(if there are any). If I see he's immune, I immediately switch to another type of weapon. The crescent axe is probably actually my favorite, but I don't really know why. The damage rating on all of them is 18.3, and on normal mobs I have found no significant advantages to using one over the other. If you're looking for efficiency, just choose any of the weapons that does the opposing type of damage from the one that you'll always be carrying, whether that be PGT, SSoY, or whatever. Otherwise(and you've seen me say this before), do whatever the heck you like and choose whatever suits your playstyle. I sometimes wish I were on Butcherblock so we could group together....I think it'd be a blast. Ohhh...regarding the longevity of crafted feysteel weapons, yes....rare crafted weapons have a much longer useful lifespan than non-rares and common drops. GL! Oh, btw..don't let anyone charge you more than 10g to make it whatever it is. If you supply the feysteel, and feysteel alone, 10g is the going price..at least on Highkeep.
