<DIV>Ok i've spent the last few months getting to lvl 50 woodworker so am quite out of touch with my ranger skills. so i'm curious as to what weapons you guys reccomend.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I want feysteel and need reccomendation for 2 dual weilds, currently using steel shortswords as they were the only ones you could get imbued at the start of the game.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The other thing is....when..if ever. should a ranger go for 1h and round shield?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>One weapon should be the PGT.  If you haven't started the quest, now would be a good time to do it.  Can't use it until lvl 32, but you get a nice Sharpened Granite Tommy to use until then.  I'm lvl 30 now and I go to my bank everyday to look at my PGT to motivate me to level up.  I'll let someone else recommend the other one, but if you choose 2 slashing weapons, carry around a piercing in your bag to use once in a while to keep your skill up. </P> <DIV>Edit:  At this point, put the sheild and 1h to rest.  Others might disagree, but even with the best of shields and 1h weapons I still take more damage than when I'm dual weilding while soloing due to the decrease in DPS.  I find myself having to kite more often and I hate kiting.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Gareorn on <span class=date_text>05-02-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:19 PM</span>

<DIV>I'll second that about the PGT. Definitely a must for all rangers/scouts in their 30's.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'll also second the statement about 1H and a shield: don't do it. Well, you can but as a ranger, you really shouldn't. I always dual wield and enjoy some nice DPS as a result. So I agree, forget the 1H/shield idea. Just my opinion. :smileywink:</DIV>

<font size="2"><font face="Arial">I don't think you'll find any better advice that what's been given above.  As for the feysteel weapons, I carry one each of an imbued crescent axe, imbued leafblade, and imbued spatha, and each one of these have different stats but the same damage rating.  I also got a very nice whip off a drop, and it has +12 agi.  So I carry all these around all the time.  You will find that you need to switch weapons mid-fight on occasions because the boss you're fighting is immune to what you're currently using....and that could mean doom for the group you're in.  As rangers, our dps may not currently be what it should be, but it is still respectable and those groups depend on us to lay some serious damage down. You can't go wrong with the feysteel.  You just have to be fortunate with the rares, or find a REALLY nice weaponsmith. BTW...Gratz on 50 woodworker...hopefully I will be there soon. </font></font><div></div>
