<DIV>Hello,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I did a search but couldn't find much discussion on our level 20 training choice. It seems that Tolan's Talent and Hager's Camo seems to be good upgrades, but I was wondering what you folks think (if there is still one you use at later levels, etc). Thank you!</DIV>

<P>I had originally (and foolishly, I later thought) taken the Back Shot upgrade thinking that getting a head-start on Archery would be cool... and was very happy later on when they allowed a respec of all the traits. I changed it immediately to Hager's Camouflage.</P> <DIV>It's up to your personal tastes, of course, but I found that the improved stealth was the way to go. Hager's Camouflage doesn't take the speed penalty either, so you can keep up with groups on the move while stealthed. And it takes a lot less time to scout out a new zone when you aren't creeeping along. Just having the extra stealth and speed was enough to make me a very happy Ranger.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There are other stealth upgrades that come along later (Huntsman's Trap), but I found that even with that I was using Hagers for the speed well into my upper 30's, except for special occasions when too many things were seeing through it in later levels. Huntsman's Trap gets a similar upgrade option at 40 as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One opinion... hope it offers some insight.</DIV>

<P>I initially chose Tolan's Talent and was sorely disappointed when I saw other rangers in my guild blowing past me, running in stealth mode.  I /repsec-ed to Hagar's Camo and am extremely happy with the choice.  At least at this level (27) I can run anywhere, quickly, and unseen by most mobs.  It makes getting around TS a breeze.  I soloed Calling in the Forrest at 25 because I was able to run to all the locations unseen.  If I have had to "crab walk" the whole way I think I would have beaten myself to death with my own keyboard.</P> <P>Hagar's Camo was is the best choice IMO.  Your mileage may vary.</P>

For me it was most satisfying to solo the artifacts quest in Stormhold at level 20 using Hager's Camouflage. Even red^^ mobs couldn't see me. <div></div>

Thanks for the info! When does it allow you to respec? It says I cannot at this time.

Thanks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> It looks like I'm stuck with Tolan's Talent then. I picked it last night figuring I could /respec if needed. I'm assuming we get an upgrade to hunt maybe in the future anyway? Thanks again for all the help <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

It is sad to see fellow Rangers blow by using camo, but I think that is a hasty choice.  I took Unrelenting Assault, which damage wise is going to no longer be worthwhile at about level 40 when upgraded lightning strike or blazing thrust begins to be used.  However, I'm level 43 and intend to use the skill when I'm level 50!  Why?  It doesn't cost any power to use!  It saves infinitely on downtime and makes me more effective in really long combat, such as epic encounters or those near death ones where it is actually important to conserve power.  You can coin, trigger with cheap shot, and use that attack to get off an HO for approximately 5 power.... withing ringing blow that's over 200 damage for a cost of 5 power. Later, I took the backstab that has a quicker reload.  It times almost perfectly with stalk/shadow/surveil, so this was perfect and doesn't get outdamaged by the normal skills until level 45 or so. Even later, I took the upgraded version of Rip.  Why?  It doesn't cost any power! Result:  I have two awesome attacks that don't cost me any power and a high damage hit with quick reload! <div></div>
