View Full Version : Stealth skills broken AGAIN??

<DIV><FONT size=2>Has anyone experienced more trouble with stealth skills locking up lately? I had a few experiences last night where Huntsman's Trap and Hagar's Camo just plain didn't work; I clicked the button, it grayed out, and I just stood there. Mousing over the buttons said "queued ability," but they never actually came into effect. After a few seconds they didn't say "queued" anymore, but they were still disabled (gray) and clicking them produced no effect. Am I losing my mind here? </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Caveat: I play on Butcherblock, and this past weekend was a fiasco - at least one crash per day, several on Sunday and I noticed this Sunday evening. I'm sure the two are unrelated, but I've seen a lot of weird behavior when the servers start to collapse. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Given that there wasn't a patch since Friday (?) and TMK nothing was changed regarding our stealth skills, I'm willing to chalk this up as an unfortunate fluke. I know more ppl would be posting about this if the skills really were broken, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced strange behavior in the last few days. Thanks.</FONT></DIV>

Yep, always had this problem with Shadow in RoV, but today was the first time I experienced it in EL. Hagar's Camo and Huntsman's Trap locked in RoV yesterday too but haven't since then. <div></div>

However, I can always break Surveil if I use it to complete a Heroic Opportunity.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From what's been happening to you, maybe it is a server-only thing, I can't say sorry. Although I was grouped with another ranger the other day who said both Surveil and the out of combat stealth had broken for her and had no idea how it happened for the latter.</DIV>

I've had Hager's Camo lock my stealth skills up once, in Nek Castle. I was hoping that they'd fixed this now... As for the servers, Splitpaw was up and down all weekend... plus plenty of lag and slow zoning. Hopefully they'll get this sorted as well! <div></div>

<font size="2"><font face="Arial">Hi Jay.  Yep...I experienced very similar problems after the supposed fix.  I started a thread here. http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=39&message.id=6936 I encountered my problems in the Steppes, I think.  But I haven't really had any problems since about 4 or 5 days after starting this thread.  Then again, I've been very cautious about cancelling the stealth on my own before harvesting a node or anything like that. </font></font><div></div>

Using a stealth skill to complete a heroic opporunity breaks the skill everytime for me. Using a non-stealth skill to complete a heroic opportunity works just fine. Note to self... remember to bug this tonight when I get home. Nul. <div></div>

So I bet I used one or both to complete a heroic and then they locked after the fact. I really gotta brush up on which skills fall in each 'icon' group - mask, cloak, dagger - b/c most of the time my buttons don't seem to blink when they should. And I need to avoid using my stealths in HOs if at all possible. Anyone know what other non-stealth CAs can you use in place of a Hager's Camo or Huntsman's Trap? </FONT></DIV>

Forresters Insight works well instead of the Sneak/Hagers/Trap abilities. Nul. <div></div>

The HO's were what I figured was impacting me as well. Sometimes just zoning would bring them back to life, but the majority of times I had to fully relog to get em back. </P>

<DIV>This is still happening to me.  I'm on Najena, so I doubt it's a server thing.  At least once per night, one of my stealth lines will get locked down.  It seems to be from completing HOs, but since I seldom use my Huntsman's line to complete HOs (cast time is too long), I suspect there might be something else.  It happened in both EL and Everfrost last night.  I can always fix it by zoning.</DIV>

I really appreciate this thread... this happens to me rarely, but then I rarely use Shadow to complete an HO.  Something I did last night, and after which I could not stealth.  I think you have cleared up this mystery for me. <div></div>

Im having odd issues. My stealth isnt getting locked up, but sometimes my guy will stay in stealth mode with no stealth CA casted on. So its safe to say the new patch has a few bugs in it.

I'm pretty sure it's a 1 second cast timer and costs 0 power as well, so it's fast and effecient.</p> <div></div><hr></blockquote> Be careful if you adopt this tactic: LU #7 also changed Blade Flurry to affect mobs in an area of effect (AOE) - not just those already engaged in the encounter (previously, it only affected mobs you were already fighting).  If you enable Blade Flurry to answer the wheel and there are mobs in the area who are minding their own business, you will pull them in to join the fight if Blade Flurry hits. If there's nothing else around though, this is a great way to answer the wheel.
