<DIV>I know we are not a tank type class, but we can and have been known to do so on occasion.  I am wondering in your opinion which is the best healer type for a ranger?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These are my assumptions based on reading from the healer class boards that I would play, cleric class is not included in the ones I want to play =+)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mystic - Wards even though heals are small it's the same principal behind duoing with a monk.  Also slows so the ranger won't be swung at as often.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Warden - Best heals (outside the cleric class) as well as some buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Fury - Decent heals not quite as good as the warden but close, and better damage as well as many spells to increase the rangers DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am just wondering if by exeperience you know that one of these would work "the best".  I currently duo with a mystic and although while I enjoy it, the mystic doesn't provide much more utilty beyond the slows, heals and wards atm (only mid 20's).  I would like to see a greater DPS being done from this team, but not at the exspense of raw power.  I can handle longer fights with safer results, but if a warden, or fury would do the job just as well, I would be more than happy to go with them =+)</DIV>

<DIV>i would say a templer or inquis type as their reactive heals they have are better for us as we get hit a lot more.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then again i group with my templer guildy all the time so not really sure on the other classes</DIV>

<DIV>I would have to disagree on the reactionary heals.  They work well for Heavy Plate classes, but not so well for medium armor types.  The reason I say this is because a heavy armor type will get hit and the amount of damage dealt will be covered by the reactionary.  Whereas with our high avoidance (almost as high as monk at comparable levels) makes shaman wards play into our gameplan very well.  I just have never been with an experienced fury or warden before and am wondering if thier HoT's and buffs are better than that at a mystics desposal.</DIV>

<P>I have found that alot of it depends on the person playing the healer.  I have grouped with templars that have had no problems keeping up with the heals.  And then there are those that do have problems as we can get hit ALOT.  The main disadvantage for a templar is that we tend to get hit more often and for more then the Plate types.  </P> <P>I have not grouped with too many mystics lately but the one that i have grouped with have not had a real problem keeping me alive because they have some nice wards.</P> <P>And I play a fury as an alt and find that the agi buffs are great as they help us avoid the hits better and don't run out in the middle of combat like the wards can do.  I imagine that the wardens are close to the same type.  The HoTs are nice and allow the Druid types to cast their DOTs.  Another plus for them is the nettleshield type wards that inflict damage to the mob that hits you.  It isn't a whole lot but it is nice.</P> <P>Of course i could be a bit biased(because of my alt :smileywink<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, but I honestly think that the druids are better for us to dual with.  </P> <P> </P> <P>P.S. on an off topic note try dualing with an enchanter :smileywink:.  Roots + Arrows = Lotsa Fun! </P>

<font size="2"><font face="Arial">I have to agree that the Ranger/Fury combo works well.  And I speak with A LOT of experience in this matter.  For levels 1 - 26, I grouped exclusively with a fury, except when taking on Chiptooth.  We did very well together.  But it's the same as any other combination...you have to know your limitations and choose your targets wisely. </font></font><div></div>

i duo and group with a fury quite often and the pairing works great for the most part. just have to keep in mind there are limits. <div></div>

Currently a 24 Ranger and I regularly duo with a Warden (currently 25). We have our problems but all in all I would have to say we rock <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> One of the biggest problems with wardens, their "ability" to draw aggro so easily actually works for us because it makes it easier for me to set up my positional attacks. The AC bonuses a warden recieves in wolf form come in very handy here. Not saying this is the best combo, but really works for us. Verin Silverblade Grobb <div></div>

<div></div><font color="#6633cc">I know that I'm ressurecting an old thread, but I was curious if I was the only ranger that played tank while duoing with a healer.I almost exclusively duo with my husband, who plays a templar, and we do really well. We can take on ^^^ yellows with a fairly high success rate, and it seems like when we are by ourselves, we tend to get more exp than when we are in a group lol. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />One thing that has really helped when fighting groups of mobs is the level 52 root-type spell Thorny Trap that lasts for a couple minutes and snares the mob when it wears off.Anyone have any more advice?</font><div></div><p>Message Edited by aianye on <span class="date_text">02-02-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:07 PM</span></p>

We are both lvl 60 and I tell you its awesome. I put a reactive on the ranger...he pulls with an arrow and melee's the target to death. Another thing that can help you is that a templar can stun giving time for the ranger to pull of an HO backstab with direblade.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>
