<DIV>Hey Gang-</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any ideas of what I can do to raise this skill quickly? (I mean, besides the obvious of disarming lots and lots of traps...;P ) What I can do to increase the chance for skill ups? (Currently running around, and my disarm traps is pretty sad. (34 outta 107.) Ive been disarming every chest I see, and I just need to find more. Any ideas on how?</DIV>

You said it yourself - you have to disarm traps. To that end, fight in places with more chest drops - generally group-type mobs drop more and you fight more mobs, so fight in groups, and if you can, in dungeons. Other than that, there's nothing you can do. Just practice. <div></div>

<P>If you can get into a group and you are the only scout class, they generally let you attempt to disarm all of the traps.  That is the only way I can think of it. </P> <P>If you are in a group with another scout class, talk to him/her before hand and alternate the disarms.  Most people will agree to this, since it is only fair but there are some but t heads out there that ninja it every time.</P> <P>Kwentavius</P>

<DIV><FONT size=2>I assume you're around 20th level?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>Thankfully, disarm was recently fixed so that you now have a 50% chance to skillup on every attempt (even a failure). So your skill <STRONG>will</STRONG> go up, you just need to hit more chests. Get into a decent group and go after gnoll groups in TS, or even named mobs if you can handle them. The chest drops seem relatively random - I've had streaks of chests dropping on every other bear in Enchanted Lands, followed the next day by a solid hour of hunting without a single chest. Certain mobs are more likely to drop than others - giants often seem a good bet for loot. Just be careful back there. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Good luck!</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>since the patch not long ago disarm will go up a lot quicker. What i did was create a macro saying attempting to disarm just to let everyone know that i was about to get blown up :smileyvery-happy: and if it was a big chest I would ask the healer for a group ward before the disarm just in case it was a nasty one</DIV>

At lvl 26 I was somewhere around 87/134 for disarm. Went to Nek to find Grandma Blumble for  grandpa Blumble and decided to start the EL quest which required killing 20 crabs.  At least the day I was there they were dropping chests left and right. They were green to me and I was approaching lvl27 so I shutoff exp and continued opening up chests (some nice loot I might add with 2 fighter adepts, one which sold for 5G). I left with my disarm skill at around 105.... and I dont know the difference between chests from Nek to TS but I didn't set off one chest while there but even with the much higher disarm returning to TS I failed to disarm the next 4-5 in a row! So keep this place in mind when you lvl up to at least 24 (solo) but hopefully with the fix in place by the time you get there your disarm skill will be near max. <div></div>
