My ranger dinged to 35 today and went to the broker to see what new spells I could use, filtered by green min and orange max skill and I came across several levels of the "honed reflexes" spell. I know this is an assassin spell, but it still comes up as usable to my ranger under the "stalking" skill. Because my character is a ranger AND woodworker, he is near the poverty line and I don't want to blow 4 gold to get the app iv (it gives 25% increase in attack speed) and find out that it can't be used. Anyone know what is up with this?

Message Edited by Flatus Maximus on 04-02-2005 03:10 PM

Honed Reflexes is indeed useable by Rangers. It appears they have grouped the two bloodlines skills by archtype and subclass, rather than class itself. But I guess that is expected, as most of our skills are a little too similiar to each others. Anyways, for what it is worth, at least wr rangers can now enjoy some haste, ever 1:21 of 5. Technically Stalking is the Predator skillset....Assassins and Rangers can use because of being Pred subclass. Just as Escape is a Recon skillset so usealbe by all scouts.

Very interesting! Are there any other assassin ca's that can also be used by rangers? I need to find a trainer that will sell me the app2 version of HR so I can try it out before sinking gold into it. This wouldn't only be available in Freeport would it?

Honed Reflexes is no more an Assassin skill than it is a Ranger skill. If anything, it is a Predator skill. Much like Blade Flurry, both classes use it. As for where to buy app 2, if you do the first three Bloodlines quests, it is available from their merchants. It is no trade, so I doubt you will find lower than app 4 on the market. It will run you about 80silver iirc. Merkades, 50th Ranger.

A bit offtopic: Scout is an archetype, predator a class and ranger a subclass. http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/classes/guide.vm?classId=99&id=7

HR isn't for sale on any merchants except the new Bloodlines merchants in Nek Forest and only after you have completed some missions for them to raise faction will they sell you the app1 version. Spend the gold for app4 and get 28% haste. Then if you ever happen to get an opal or the mineral rare equiv use it to get Pristine Woad Ink made then turn that into the Adept 3 version for 40% Haste.

Good and Evil (Ranger/Assassin) can use.

Yes most of us know the archetype tree is Scout, Pred, Assassin/Ranger. It was clarified because HR uses Stalking ability and that is the Predator skillset. Not belonging to either Ranger(archery skill) or Assassin(assassination skill), but useable by them because they both are sub classes of Predator.

Ther are no assassination skill abilities that are usable by Rangers, nor are there and archery skill abilities that are usable by Assassins.
