Stealth workaround I posted on skill board as well

<DIV> <DIV>For all you poor stealthers out there that are cringing with the lack of response to that bug that locks a stealth skill to where it can only be queued I have found a fix that will hopefully help you all. Here is what I did, and trust me this isn't a real solution as the problem needs to be fixed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is what happened in my tests to get stealth to where I can use more than once. I used the base skill Hunt. Yes that's it I used hunt. Unfortunately this still leaves any rangers hunting mobs of level 35+ fairly screwed on the stealthing. I used all the types of things that were breaking the skill when I was stealthed with huntsmans trap and tried them with hunt, and not one broke it. As soon as I retried with huntsmans trap it broke. This may give some rangers at least a mediocre stealth above the level 3 version. I was inspired to try this as my wife who is the ranger player (I play a templar myself) asked around last night to see who it was affecting and for the most part it was only people who were level 31 or higher. The ones that were lower had it locked because they had the level 20 training upgrade to hunt. Not one person who was only using the base skill had the problem.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For the devs/bug fixing crew here is a run down to help find the bad code:</DIV> <DIV>1- It only affects people who have an upgraded version of hunt.</DIV> <DIV>2- It breaks whenever you do an action that cancels stealth wether it be skill use or harvesting.</DIV> <DIV>3- Manually toggling it off does not seem to break it.</DIV> <DIV>4- Using the base skill will not break the line of skills.</DIV></DIV>

I was using my level 3 Sneak for the most part, but copied Hunt into my hotbar this morning.. didn't get a chance to try it before I left for work.</P> <P>Even if this won't work for me specifically, it's great to see someone taking a proactive approach to finding the causes of (and workarounds for) this, especially from a non-Ranger! On the skill board someone replied saying that they were able to use the level 20 trainign stealth without problems as well, and that the problem only kicked in when they actually had the huntsmans trap skill. At that time using any upgrade will lock it up.

I don't know if it is less likely to lock up than Huntsman's Trap cuz I can't test a skill I don't have. But Hagar's Camo <STRONG>is </STRONG>susceptible to the same stealth bug. Thanks for posting the workaround, though - kudos on that. </FONT><BR>

<DIV>The info I am posting is what people have told me. I want my wife's char to work as much as you want your rangers to work. She has literally been stuck in the EQ2 kitchen waiting for a fix. At least she is now making T4 food as of this morning, but I would much rather we play the game together. Every piece of info we can post on what seems to trigger the bug will help devs pin it down and get it fixed. Thank you all for your continued feedback.</DIV>
