I did not see this mentioned, so I may as well. If you complete the first 3 quests from either camp for the Bloodlines adv pack, it will open up the merchants who sell new app2 skills. Our skill is called Honed Reflexes. It is green at 48, I think requires 170ish skill in recon. something like 48 power. Its effect is 21% haste, which is nice, as we dont have any other haste skills. The downside is that the haste is 1:20 minutes in duration, with the reuse timer set at 5 minutes. Basically fire it off before you do Feral Instincts. I cant say it is bad, it is less restrictive than some peoples in encounter usage. But, even though it is haste, we are still the only scout class that can not keep ourselves hasted (and I am failry certain it is a lesser haste than the other scouts). But hey, archery rocks now, I am still happy with that. Merkades, 48th Ranger.

Although this isn't for me personally, because i'm still a very low level, are these no drop? Or are you able to purchase them and give/sell them to other Rangers that either don't have the Adventure pack or ones that haven't completed the quests yet to open up the merchants?

It only last like 45sec and has a 10min reuse timer. Think the haste is a little more than 5% to.

Veil of the Forest is the buff you can keep up constantly. Spell description says its suppose to give a 5% increase in movement rate, but thats broken also.

Lets see, the questions. First it is marked as no trade, I am sure SOE mentioned having an alternate way to getb them for people who did not buy Bloodlines. Second, it works anywhere in eq2. Third, Feral Instincts does not provide haste, just 5 agi and 43%dps boost at adept1/level 48. I checked this with the /show_window command. Fourth, hi there Coldstatic, as Fingolfin2 said, Veil of the Forest is a movement skill, not haste, the difference is that the 5% boost actually works in combat as well as outside combat. If you check /show_window MainHUD.Character it will show a 5 point gain in offensive speed, haste goes in attack speed, you can check with the new skill or fbss or whatnot. So rangers never had haste before this skill, and as it is, it is 1:20 minutes of every 5. Merkades, 48th Ranger.

Has anyone taken the plunge to see whether the new spell can be upgraded to Adept 3, and if it can, what the resulting change was? Increased Haste? Increased duration? Reduced recast timer? Changed power usage? Nothing?

Given the non-upgrades that some of our skills provide, I'm a little leery of using a rare to do this unless I know what will happen.

Is this the only new CA we get from bloodlines, or are their others as well?

I think it'd be a great thing to actually be able to see the improvement BEFORE you scribe any spell upgrade. Like they could put the details when you examine the scroll (if u buy it) or in the recipe (for ad3 that are custom made). This would allow peeps to know what they get, at least you wouldn't end up buying either a broken spell or a spell that isn't improved much. (there is more than one spell in that case)

I just finished the last quest of Bloodlines tonight, and we do get one more skill. but it is for all scout classes, presumably, they based these last skils in archtypes. Dreadfang. A brutal attack that does high damage and briefly stuns vampire opponents. 64power 1sec cast 60sec refresh. Can be used from in front of target. Adept 3 level 228-380 damage at 48th. Recon skill 175min 250max. What is even more cool though, is the silver charm from the quest right before it, illusion vampire, which is cool, until every other person has it ) Merkades, 48th ranger.

Honed Reflex Adept 3 version increases attack speed by 41 %

Feral Instincts Increases DPS by 45 %

Now i always assumed that Feral Instincts increased attack speed, but it doesnt, its a damage buff it increases your damage by 45 %.

Hard to test if the haste skill actually works. You can look at your weapon and run feral instincts and see the damage rating go up.. But the Damage rating stays the same when you run Honed reflex..

I wish there was a way to see your increased attack speed, or that when u ran it you saw the delay on your weapons drop acordingly..

So what exactly do I need to do to get these new spells?

I've done the D'Morte instances, and the scout quest from the Hand of Marr camp. I can see armor for sale on the merchant but nothing else. How many quests will I need to do before I can see these spells?

Hopefully SOE can move in that direction. They're finally getting the point that LESS information is damaging to players, so let's hope they continue to provide more detailed info on these things. Having your weapon delays dynamically update based on the current buffs (it sounds like damage rating already does) would be great.

I can't wait to get some kind of haste, let alone +40% damage augmentation??
