<DIV>I don't think it was posted in the update notes but after the recent patch it seems that the arrows we use don't effect the damage on our bow CA's. I was xpin for a couple hours last night and noticed that my makeshift carbonite arrows were doing the same damage as fulginates and indium. It seems that the type of arrows effect our regular bow shots but not the ca's. </DIV>

<DIV>At work right now can anyone else verify this? This could be a VERY VERY good thing for rangers.</DIV>
i notice this also... ca bow damage was doing abnoramly high dps with regular carbonite arrow. <div></div>
I can confirm it, 450 pt Sniping Shot vs lvl 38 mob. Had no trouble with Nightbloods useing them Lysiia <div></div>

<P>I thought it was because I was in a high utility group, was in the Tower of Obelisk with a group that included a Coercer and a Troub today, and saw the same thing. This might be something we want to be /quiet about. But, I too saw the same thing, not sure if this corrects the problem with high end damage, but would curtail arrow cost issues.</P> <P>Most Snipes we're hitting for mid 300's with carbonites, but did see some low 400's with Feysteel. Probably just coincedence, lucky roll of the dice, so to speak.</P> <P> </P> <P>YAY NO MORE FARMING FEYSTEEL ARROWS!!!!</P>

That would explain things, but sadly I don't think it will stay. Moorgard already posted that Tear would be receiving an arrow change to something more appropriate (please not fulginate, I am tired of seeing that word.. and pristine). And there would be no reason to do so if arrow type no longer mattered. The only exception is if they changed it to rip a blunt/slash arrow type, which I somehow doubt. Man that sure is going to suck if it does get changed, I still have not hit max with my CAs, but I always hit above min and usually mid point damage now. Merkades, 48th Ranger. <div></div>

Combat Ability - Sniping Shot etc. What we are saying is that regardless of arrow type they are all doing the same damage, pretty much. Which appears to be equivalent to about tier 4 Feysteels. Not quite as good as Fulginates though.

This sounds like a total disaster if it's true and an intended "fix". It would indicate that the devs has finally lost the plot when it comes to Ranger damage and balancing the classes. If what they have done is just increase carbonite arrow damage to the old feyiron/fulginate levels in an effort to make Scout DPS "cheaper", then they've basically just removed one of the primary aspects of ranged attacks. i.e. different level arrows do different damage. Why have different arrows at all if they all do the same damage ? Nobody uses ranged (bow) attacks for anything except pulling or CAs, so now I might as well just go back to using tin arrows ??? I'm going to go test with my player made feyiron arrows (I have about 4,000 in my bank I spent ages making) to see if their damage is any different to a 2c tin arrow.... <div></div>

I guess having 4 means when your 100 procs is up on 1 the next is ready to go. I have noticed a bit more CA damage and I think this is a good thing, it certainly goes ALONG way to solving the Cost for DPS issue.. but now I have to wonder what use are RIP and TEAR ?</span><div></div>
<DIV>Please... shhhh.. one of the main gripes is that arrows to get our dps up cost so much.. if they fixed it ... even for the 20 to 40s levals to some degree... dont gripe.. yes they may make fulginate arrows obtainable from tear.. lets cross our fingers.. but at least SOMETHING is happening... next they may hopefully work on the overall dps.. as they stated they would .. and poison.. then I will be a happy camper.</DIV> <DIV>Any positive step for rangers is good.. Thank you for the "bone" SOE.. we will eagerly await the next bone!</DIV>

<P>wot lvl mobs and your lvl are you finding this on?</P> <P>i mean i can do some serious damage against green mobs but if this is happening on lvl mobs that are 5-6 lvls higher then this is really good news</P>

5-6 higher are red .. you'll never do good damage on red mobs. i'm doing more to white/yellow. this is def a positive change.. just wish there was communication to go along with it..i dislike a stealth anti-nerf almost a smuch as i dislike a stealth nerf... its a great change.. but for the love of god devs.. TALK with us ! <div></div>
Just did a quick tested on the CAs using Iron Arrows (5c), Feyiron Arrows (ripped) and Feyiron Hunting Arrows (1s+ each) Crippling Arrow -------------------- Iron Arrow - 163 Feyiron Arrow - 195 Feyiron Hunting Arrow - 217 Triple Fire ------------- Iron Arrow - 86, 131, 168 Feyiron Arrow - 89, 109, 130 Feyiron Hunting Arrow - 89, 123, 132 So, at this stage, it looks like the player made Feyirons *are* dishing out more damage when you look at Crippling Arrow, but Triple Fire isn't so hot (although first hit always seems to be higher, others seem to suffer from RNG) I'll do some proper testing later on get some averages as this sample size was too small to be 100% sure it wasn't just random luck. <div></div>

try with our ripped arrows aswell. <div></div>
<P><FONT size=2>That would explain some things I saw last night. I don't usually buy arrows (yet, I'm 2<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> so I was using my normal makeshift carbonite and I seemed to be doing some really good damage. Given that I'm still getting used to Stormfire (darlin, I'll never leave you...until level 36!) I wasn't sure if this was the bow or what. Man, if this stays around, that'd be very nice...our damage may finally be reaching intended levels. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></P>
