Can anyone recommend a decent bow? I am currently using the one eyed bow but thats just turned white to me (25) so I need a new one.I have a pristine oak bow (t4 rare) in the bank but would like a new bow for the next few levels. Also has anyone got a recommendation for what weapons to wear from 25+, currently using dual giant pix axes.

<DIV>There is the Stormfire bow which you obtain from a quest in Stormhold. I'm not sure how to put a picture up but the stats are:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>+3 Int</DIV> <DIV>+9 Agi</DIV> <DIV>+4 Str</DIV> <DIV>+5 Wis</DIV> <DIV>+36 Health</DIV> <DIV>+39 Power</DIV> <DIV>Base Damage 29-145</DIV> <DIV>Required Skill 140</DIV> <DIV>Mastery 180</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think I began using it around 27 or 28 and still using it at 34. Great bow, especially when using the feyiron arrows and the ranged skills Rangers start to get around 30th level.</DIV>

<DIV>I used a lot of player made bows myself. The game needs more bows.</DIV>

<DIV>I agree with previous poster, I too use Stormfire, and love the +Agi on it, the quest is long, but if you start it now, you should have the bow by the time you are able to use it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There is also the Sureshot, which you recieve for completing operation greenhood in Zek, that bow is slightly better damage wise, but I prefer the stats on Stormfire.  Other then that keep checking broker everytime you level for orange player crafted bows, and you may find one there you can use till you get an upgrade</DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>I just completed [Removed for Content] Valinayle's quests in Stormhold over the weekend. Spent most of the weekend game time in SH, actually. Was getting extraordinarily stir-crazy at the end of three consecutive days underground in dank undead-filled dungeons. (I literally camped in SH, in the room where Lord Banfield spawns.) In the end, we had to camp Lord Gydak (the final quest) for about 4-5 hours, clearing his placeholders every time they popped and generally occupying ourselves with the other goblins and evil salamanders down in L4 of Stormhold. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>After a ridicluously long and grueling journey, we finally killed Gydak and completed this chain of quests. Stormfire is mine at last!! <cackles evilly></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2>So yeah, I'd recommend it the bow itself, but be prepared for a horrid string of quests to get it. You have to kill 20 each of defiled sentries, squires, knights, priests, lancers, keepers, and scorched skellies, with various named undead Lords in-between. Everything in this quest was gray to me at 27 (bow requires 2<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, until we got to the final part with Lord Gydak. It was really more time-consuming and tedious than actually difficult. My advice is if you know you want this bow, start Valin's quests early and do them a bit at a time over a longer period. I ground through almost the entire quest in one weekend, but it was pretty grueling. Good luck  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Used the One-eye til 30.  Didn't have the patience to do the Stormfire bow Quest.  Working on the Bloodletter bow in Zek now.  At 31, the one-eye still works for me although it is at the very end of its usefulness.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kwent</DIV>

I jumped around and shouted a wee bit. The other ranger who had done a big part of the quest with me (we'd spent all day in SH together, even before the Gydak camp) says "guys...I think I'm gonna cry." My guildmate replies "Cry after Gydak's dead." <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></P> <P><FONT size=2>Grueling and evil, that series of quests. Don't get me wrong, I <STRONG>love</STRONG> Stormfire, but you really gotta wonder if any single item is worth such tedium. And our wait for Gydak was only around five hours, I've read of people waiting days for him. By EQ standards, five hours seems like a picnic. (I detest camping, so five hours was plenty for me.)</FONT></P>

<DIV>stormfire is good, definetly worth it for a ranger, go with the bloodlet over the sureshot, it lasts longer and has better stats, to get it talk to the named iskarr by DFC instead of the forest master.</DIV>

After 3 days of camping Byron (on and off) he was finally up when I checked before work this morning (WOOHOO). All I have left is Gydak, the only one I KNOW I can't solo. Since I have a couple of levels until I can actually use the bow (I just hit 26), I figure I'll just pop into SH ever now and then and see if anyone is camping him so I can join up <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Ok quick update from me.I just did the entire quest in around 8hrs. Not sure if SoE has chnaged the Gydak spawn time but I went down there with a grp of three and someone has just killed him. We then camped there for around 1hr and three spawns later there he was.I am lvl 26 and everything upto the end guy was green, the mini lords spawned every 15-30 mins. The longest part of this quest was doing the rest of the stuff inbetween like waiting for defiler keepers to spawn etc.stormfire is now mine <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Tommorow i'm going to go for the ancient leather earring (+8 agi) in the condemmed catacombs.
