Can someone please explain to me why this happened....Scenario: CL Epic Raid, 19 PeopleMy Group: 50 Ranger (Myself), 50 Assassin, 50 Wizard, 50 Inquisitor (Inquisitor died on the pull).Assassin and I have basically the same armor (including 15% haste from FBSS), so I ruled that out. Only exception is weapons. I switched between SBD, PGT, Prismatic Swiftblade, and a level 50 master chest dropped spear (27-82 2.1 Delay 16 AGI 14 STR 50 HP 40 PWR 20% Haste). Assassin switched between SBD, PGT, and SSoY.DPS According to CombatStats:Assassin 33656 39.4Ranger 30094 35.2I believe there's 5 adds and the boss mob. After the adds I was up maybe 1k damage, and my power dropped to 0% less than 3 minutes into the fight even though I wasn't doing much. Even with 20% more haste I got out DPS'ed by an assassin that badly mostly because I was out of power. The assassin has more adept 3's than I have, but it still wouldn't have mattered since I was out of power 90% of the fight. So obviously there's a problem if my top weapons can't compete with quested heritage weapons.

<DIV>Umm.. CL epic mob is immune to slash I believe. </DIV> <DIV>Must use pierce on those (sigh.. and they are skellies). With 12 ppl and without bow skills, my dps was 80+ doing around 60k damage. Warlock's was 180+ and was feeding power to the MT. lol. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But either way, assassins will do more damage than us if we don't use arrows. It's all part of the game. =)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>PGT gives us a bulb of power but I am also always out of power... did you have breeze from chanter? Chanter breeze is 10% mana regen. And I get 20 ticks from Robe and 10 ticks from char trait. Think we need to get efreeti boots to keep it more even. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Suppose the fight was 15 minutes. The assassin could have done 2000x3 damage just from their class skill backstab, and 1 use of assassination. So that's probably 8000 damage upfront. 4 skills only. We need alot more to catch up to that. (so basically you run out of power faster)</DIV><p>Message Edited by CyberEva on <span class=date_text>03-10-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:44 PM</span>

Assassin said she was hitting fine with PGT, but I mostly used piercing. We didn't have a chanter and we were short 5 people from a full raid so our dps wasn't going to be high, but we still are getting out damaged badly. And I couldn't use ranged attacks very often when I was out of power, so basically was limited to straight meleeing.

Feel free to correct me, if I am in need of it, but I believe you are incorrect in your assumption that you had higher haste. Insofar as I know, all scouts except Rangers have skills that grant haste, for an assassin of your level, this is Murderous Villany iirc. I think that grants 5% dps increase along with a haste bonus (think 30% but again this may not be the correct amount, but it is haste). This would definitely add up if you both were oom for the majority of the fight.Btw, their skill grants Str, Haste and DPS % gains by contrast, ours similar skill (Veil of the Forest) is Agi, 5% movement and disease resist.. so fair.Merkades 47th Ranger

Just looked up assassin spells, they definately have an attack that gives haste and I wouldn't compare that to veil since its a buff and because they also have a similar buff that gives them agi, increases some other stuff. So obviously with my spear an assassin could have basically permanent 65% haste, where as I have 35%. This is a major problem with rangers, not only does our power drain faster but we're down 30% haste (huge dps loss).

<DIV>I notice the power strangenly drop severely while i was soloing last night as well. I usually solo a mob and have half my power left but after using haders lunge and triple , starting with snipe my power was completely gone, i later grouped and tried same mob only the ++ same thing happend while a caster had over 80% power mine droped in less then 10 secs completely.</DIV>

Hi Troz, the reason I mentioned Veil of the Forest is because they are the same exact skill, the difference is, ours is ranger flavored theirs is assassin. If you check the skill listing, they get it at 41, like us, and it also grants 3 boons, like ours, same cast time/duration/cost et al. Unfortunately, ours, while nice, is no match for one of their functions. As I said, I am pretty sure Rangers are the only scout, and indeed one of the few classes I swear, that do not get haste of some form or another. And again, as I posted in another thread, I can see no logical reason why a ranger would outdamage an assassin, barring massive skill/gear differences, though I do think both classes are subpar.Merkades 47th Ranger

My guy is lvl 32 and I usually open with hagers back stab, then run backwards with triple shot, flaming shot, wounding arrow, then use melee attacks in the turns while kiting. Before I would burn about 30% of my power to kill a level 31 orc patrol, but now I am down about 50%.

<DIV>Dollar for dollar assasins do better dps. Not to mention their self haste alone is better than FBSS.</DIV>
