<DIV>I pretty much take any chance I can to get a safe fall.  Even the smallest fall has a small chance of dinging your skill.  Just like a level 49 going back into a newbie zone to harvest.  The chance is small, but real.  I jump off everything.  I have even started to see RL situations where I could jump for a safefall chance.  Hehe.</DIV>

<DIV>If you are in Nek, you can run up the bridge supports at both the CL zone and D'abath bridge in the middle of the zone, and then jump off the top of the supports, either straight, or to the roadway for quick skill ups too.</DIV>

<DIV>Personally anytime I take a Griffon tower I jump right off the top of it, it seems just high enough that it will be considered a safe fall.  One question about the skill though, do you have to keep jumping from greater heights to get skill-ups?</DIV>

<DIV>A fun spot I've found is behind the oracle tower, skill is up in the 120's now. Fall for around 800-1000.  Just be sure you don't have a friend af you wihtout telling you :smileyvery-happy:  Made for some pretty funny debt.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edited for [Removed for Content] typing.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Bromious on <span class=date_text>03-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:14 PM</span>

<DIV>yeah behind oracle tower is good, I was jumping off there waiting for a group to form, for some reason the mage tried it too and surprisingly went splat, also a monk so i told him to FD in the air, that looked soooo funny</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Will safe fall have more chance to increase the higher the fall or is it like most skills where you can up it by doing easiy stuff so jumping off griff tower will increase the same?</DIV>

One evening i was so bored i just kept running up the griffon tower near the TS entrance and throwing myself off to see what the most dammage i could get from a running jump. Just over 300 as it happens. 2 or 3 wandering players stopped to watch and made funny comments. One, an inquisitor, tried also i think she took about 800 points of dammage and didnt try for a running jump off..lolOk well i found it all funny.ermm.I'll get my coat.

I'm pretty sure the chance of a level up is related to the amount of damage you would have taken for the fall compared to your current level in the skills. The way I think it works is that the amount of damage you would take is compared to your current level and this then gives a % chance of you levelling up. The game then rolls a random % to see if you managed a level up or not.The reason I say this is that I was jumping off the same point over and over again to take my fall up to 95 or so, and it worked every 1 or 2 falls to start with, then went to 5 or 6, and now I can jump off 50 times and don't get a level even though I am 115/207 on the skill. This behaviour actually makes sense too, otherwise you'd just be jumping off the same place over and over again until you maxed out, in which case it would just be easier to make the skill auto-increase as you level.

<DIV>I also believe that the skill is indexed to the height of the fall.   I never get skill ups from the Griffon Towers any more.  I could jump off them all day long, and it takes too long to run up the zig-zag ramps to make it worth while.  You CAN get a skill up off any small drop that triggers the skill, but you are more likely to get it from a great height if your skill is high.  Mine is in the 140's now and its almost impossible to find heights that high without dying.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am not quite ready to start practicing in the Mine on Zek.  heheh.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But you can jump of a nicely variable level at the Deathefist lookout in zek.  You can jump from any height you want there, as it spirals up to the top.</DIV>

<DIV>Easy way to work the Griffon tower:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hold down the right mouse button and face the tower.  You don't need to turn to run up it anymore.  Presuming you use the default awsd setup for left, up, down, right; you can run up "sideways" without needing to turn.  If you jump off the very top, you can move in midair to get yourself to land by the bottom ramp so you can run right back up again and get a jump off about every 4 seconds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Retribution - Befallen</DIV>

<DIV>There are still a ton of places that are easier than this with variable height.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <UL> <LI>The cliff overlooking Windstalker villiage in Antonica where Holly's grave is.  (Several other cliffs in northern Ant, like near Oracle Tower, Ardent Needle and surrounds)</LI> <LI>Deathfist Lookout in Zek</LI> <LI>The bridge abuttments on both bridges crossing the river in Nektulos. (jump to roadway, or if you sprint you can jump from the apex of the bridge to shore, just align with the support to avoid falling in water)</LI> <LI>A good hillside near Cheif Dersog (the NPC FireRock Giant Chief) in Thunderring Steppes. </LI> <LI>Face outward from the door of Nektropos castle, run off path to left, and jump over moat to ground below.</LI> <LI>Lucan's mount in CL (though you have to try several times to find the water areas that are shallow enough to act as land.)</LI></UL> <P>All of those are easy places where you are often waiting, and all of those locations are very easy to run back up quickly to jump more frequently.  The Cliff, lookout, and TS Hillside allow for a great deal of variable height jumping to maximize your height for skillups without hurting yourself.</P>

<DIV>My skill is now about 160...Generaly speaking ive noticed the best gains at such a hight were you take a small amount of damage. i.e. JUST high enough to get hit but not die. This gets tougher as you level but here are some sugjestions.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Starting at 0...</DIV> <DIV>From 0 just about anywhere will do. any little jump that gives you some falling damage should get you skill.</DIV> <DIV>I started in Rivervale jumping randomly off everything. Group parks by zone wall? run up...jump...run up...jump. Dont miss the pull.</DIV> <DIV>Also I find a nice spot on the wall to the right of the zone in as you enter RV where I easly got to about 90+. I found an odd path that let me get a bit higher than other places in the zone. However at this low lvl of skill anything with any bit of height works.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>80+</DIV> <DIV>Youll hit 80 really fast after that heres some ideas.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nmarrs Ascent. This place is tall and you can jump from various heights. Good for a long long time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Stairs in Cazic Thule This is another tiered location where you can get some good skillups. Risky at lower lvls. Maybe take a lvl 50Friend.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>140+</DIV> <DIV>Now your getting somewhere. Cliff diving anyone?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Forgive me for forgetting the name but...The tower in CL neer the Bird station closest to Nek. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tower of Vhalen in Ant and cliff by tower.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At 160ish I still jump out the window of the tower in CL and about 10% of the time take some damage. Best thing to do is keep doing it til you no longer take any damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Keep it up and soon youll be crapping your RL pants while you jump off things and wait impatiently for the sudden stop. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV><p>Message Edited by Cexia on <span class=date_text>03-12-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:36 PM</span>

<DIV><FONT size=2>I'm stunned. I've been posting hither and yon about Safe Fall practice spots for months now, and here we have a consolidated thread?? Lovely! I'll try to contribute later once I'm home and grinding out my mandatory 1-3 hours in the tradeskill instance. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Best place I have found is the hill up to tower of valhen....if you move to the top edge you can jump down the rock areas along the side of the path..not just one kamakzie jump off the top.. and get 4 good skill jumps per run...run back up the path..rinse..repeat..all that good stuff.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Toxzyn Twistedbow</DIV> <DIV>28 Dark Elf Ranger</DIV> <DIV>Revelations Guild</DIV> <DIV>Blackburrow </DIV>
