First, i'd like to say that I love being a (lvl 24) ranger and would not/could not play any other class. Through all the nerfs I have suffered like everybody else I still manage to adapt. Before I go on id like to say that all my armor is orange (rings, everything!) with the exception of a few yellows. All have very good stats. My 2-rapiers are also orange on a 1.3sec timer(i think at 7-17 dmg for my lvl) not bad. My skills are mainly app4 to adept1 except for cheap shot which I mainly use to complete an ho due to the quick timer and I dont want to waste my good stuff for the same damage/buffs ill get anyways. I wont go into my routine ie. backshot/wounding arrow etc.(I know those routines). I can take down solo mobs up through orange (if your counting sirens in TS...). Every thing is good. Now having said all that, why can't I take down a solo "heroic" ^^ green gnoll/skellie etc? (this also includes 2- ^green gnolls/skellies).I know, there "heroic", but there still 3 levels below me. If I get a good start whether its my bows or a sneak/backstab this should give me the advantage to manage the rest of the fight. If caught off guard then I loose the advantage. But having taken the advantage and then seeing my health drop to.... revive is not fun. If there that tough why aren't they red! I have to sometimes wait until there 1-3 levels gray before I have a chance. This may sound like a complaint and to an extent it is. My problem as a soloist is how many quests require you to kill certain types of gnolls where the only type is 1^^ green or 2-^ green and these are the easy ones. By the time I can kill them and complete the quests the item is no longer worth it. (All my armor was bought at a premium price, not quested). So my main problem to the devs right now since I doubt they will readjust the nerfing to benefit us is put some questing monsters out there that the soloist can kill and get the same rewards as groups. Put a lower exp on them for groups or no exp at all to avoid groups going after them. Then we can all share since i'm not going after the heriocs! Anyways, would like to see comments by other soloist on this. I'm sure this could help other classes also. If nothing changes then this game is really not for the soloer and is still a grouping game. You can solo but your not getting the same benefits as grouping. And as far as I can tell its not all the nerfing thats killing the ranger but that theres no alternatives to fight since the nerfing. (I say this lightly as yes if there wasn't a nerf then we could fight the ^^greens/blues but I believe this was done to balance the groups, so with them balanced put something back to balance the soloist...).Regards, and happy hunting.

The emphasis is still on groups - this is a multiplayer game, after all - and while they seem to be trying to accomodate solo players, I doubt you'll ever see a point where you can most everything by yourself that you could with a group. I think it'd just be too difficult to balance, you know? </FONT></P> <P><FONT size=2>Sorry I can't offer any helpful feedback, but you might want to consider getting at least a small group together to handle the tougher challenges, so you don't end up SOL on quests that require you to take on mobs that aren't soloable. Good luck!</FONT></P>

you will be able to solo them at 80% xp. by then your defense will have gained 4 points by then. use that buff that gives agi and your parrying buffs. but only the lowest possible greens you can find. i think those are lvl20 for you right now. give it a shot in ts with the undead farmers and settlers (half of them should be lvl19 and greyed out. the other half should be lvl20). i could solo a grp of heroic swarm beetles at 27.8.

<DIV>I appreciate the feedback on the post. However I think I failed to get the main reason for it. I am not looking for spots where soloing can be done. I have done enough sneaking (fortunately I took the quick sneak upgrade) around TS to know where they are. What I would like to see is posts from  people who primarily solo (due to a number of reasons) and would like to see more solo encounters for quests that are already out there but can't be done do to the heroic status of all these quest encounters. Some times I can get 2-3 parts done on a multi part quest only to run into an impossible encounter with no alternatives at the end unless I wait..... until the reward is not worth the effort.</DIV> <DIV>    Based on the 5 stars (thanks all) of the post I believe this is a widespread concern that effects many, many people.</DIV> <DIV>   I guess if a list of all the quests that have frustrated the soloist do to the heroic status of the opponents could be documented and the frustrations listed in completing them then maybe the devs will say "hey, we can fix this easily by adding some solo content to the quests".</DIV> <DIV>    How about it. List 1-2 quests that have  frustrated you the most and why! Hopefully the devs will pay attention.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>   I know it can be argued that this doesn't belong in a rangers only forum but hey, Im a ranger, and I knew I would be soloing most of the time and thought that the ranger class would be the best for this.</DIV> <DIV>Regards,</DIV>

<DIV>This is EXACTLY how I feel. I think thats the reason that most people complain about not being able to solo Green ^^ is because there are no solo encounters of the same needed quest mob. (Example kill 10 drowned footsoldiers). There are no SOLO con Drowned footsoldiers so I have to wait until there grey just to finish the quest (which is now green to me). I really could care less about getting less XP playing solo. I enjoy the questing and exploring. I very seldom kill anything unless (1) I have a quest for it (2) I am trying out a new spell or (3) It contains "holly windstalker" in its name. And yes certain named mobs should require a group. But a Drowned skeleton? come on they can't all be bestest friends. </DIV>

<DIV>I agree with everything you have said (pretty much). As a lvl23 Ranger, I could solo Defiled Lancers in SH Green >> Easy (maybe too easy?), Ding'd to level 24, and Defiled Knights Green >> kick my [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] in about 20 seconds. I lose 1/3of my HP just as im starting my second attack!!!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I do think if you are a new lvl, with low xp for that level, mobs Con is not realistic. Then again, when u hit 80% + xp for the next level, things even out much more. My question, why have the attack/defence bonus at 80%? surely the point is it should be applied when you reach the new level?</DIV>
