<DIV>*Edited title to make more sense.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I had been considering putting my level 26 Warlock on the shelf because I was having so much fun playing my Predator soon to be Ranger, but the last couple of levels has me leaning the other way to put my Predator on the Shelf.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Even after the AGI "Patch"  I was still able to solo green ^^ mobs, and yellow, sometimes orange solo mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The problem is, Bleed, Impale, Pierce, etc.  are becoming weaker and weaker as I go up in levels and cheap shot seems to work less and less as well.  The only abilities I have gotten since 15.6 have been all sneak based abilities or bow based ones.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What this is adding up to is I am having a harder time soloing anything at all, and I am hoping that it is just a level rut like with my Warlock from 20-23 was pretty weak until I got my main Nuke.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe my strategy needs to be modified at this level.  I always start in Hunt and hit with Shadow Blade, then Bleed, Pierce, HO, I was using cheap shot to stalk to another stealthed back attack but since cheap shot doesn't work much anymore I can't do that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I was killed by a yellow bear on Saturday I put him on the shelf and have been debating the reason to keep playing him.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was having a LOT of fun regardless of the AGI "patch" it has just been the abilities I have been getting are very much geared towards grouping than soloing at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any suggestions?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mirn</DIV> <DIV>Gnome Predator of 19 Seasons</DIV> <DIV>New Dawn Adventurers</DIV> <DIV>Lucan D'Lere Server</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <P>Message Edited by dalessit on <SPAN class=date_text>02-22-2005</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>05:23 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by dalessit on <span class=date_text>02-22-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:24 AM</span>

If you want a character that will be able to solo Green ^^ mobs in the 20's...Ranger is def not the right choice. I'm lv 24 Ranger, and I love it. I can solo whites & yellows fine, somewhat good exp. Grouping is real fun tho too.

<DIV>Another suggestion is to look for different strategy tips on these message boards. A lot of the rangers here offer great tips on how to solo mobs once you get to higher levels.  IE, such as stunning mobs, turning your attack off, circling to back, and hiting w/ a high dmg backstab attack. Another thing that I have done while grouped, *and it has actually caused me to steal aggro from MT because of the damage output* is use Shrouded strike, turn attack off and hit w/ Flame (whatever the backstab hidden is called) and go thru the process of cycling your attacks.</DIV> <DIV>Hope this helps, and if you need moreadvice, just ask. Rangers generally are all friendly and we still together to help each other. That's one of the main reason i like this class.</DIV>

<DIV>Thanks for your responses.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It just appeared that my cheap shot wasn't working all the time.  That was a tactic I was using effectively, to stun them, stalk, then hit them with ambush.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe I just need to stick with grouping with My Ranger, they seem to work really well in a group.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mirn</DIV> <DIV>Gnome Predator of 19 Seasons</DIV> <DIV>New Dawn Adventurers</DIV> <DIV>Lucan D'Lere Server</DIV>

ambush? nail em with shadowblade! I never ever start the fight with my nukes. Always start with the debuffs. Lower their defense, then circle round back for the kill! And dont forget your HO's. Cheapshot will rotate/trigger HO's, and it's on its own timer. It's a useful skill for me, all the way to 37. Probably stay on my hotbar forever, to be honest.

at lv 24 here is what I use when soloing whites/yellows.Backshot>HO Trigger>Corner>Impale>Peirce training skill>Bleed>Walk back then activate openshot> turn off attack>Hit Cheapshot>Wounding arrow> Then repeat if needed. In groups, I just bust out all my attacks, assuming you have a good tank in grp. Use Shrouded Strike and Stalk alot, those sneak attacks do alot of dps <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>One thing I noticed (a little too late for me) at the 17-19 predator levels, the store bought (skill=50) poison was simply not cutting it.  Too few procs and too many resists.  Unfortuntaely, you need to hit level 20 for the next tier of store bought poisons.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The advantage of player crafted poisons is that the minimum requirement is 1.  Therefore, you can begin using tier 3 (skill = 100) poisons immediately, and grow into them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I really wish I had discovered that sooner.  I suspect my "hell levels" of 17-19 would have been a little faster.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good luck!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yan</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
