<DIV>I picked up a outrider apprentice greater training tome from one of those scying stone things and it says i need to kill 20 undead type creatures in 5 minutes. Has anyone done this and what do you get at the end of it? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanks</DIV>
I did this last night.Used a scrying stone on one of those rainbow lights emanating from the ground and got that Outrider tome.Killed 10 animals in 5 minutes, got quest credit... and got nothing. Tome disapeared as well.Shows up in my completed quests in my journal.I was hoping to learn a long lost ranger technique!!<img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Namil Jackrabbit35 Ranger / 28 WoodelfworkerThe Three RoadsThe Might Mighty Grobb Server!

<DIV>You get a small amount of XP for doing it. I was expectiing something better, like maybe learning a long lost technique (after all, that is what it says, right?). It is ridiculous, because in order for a Ranger to kill 20 of anything in 5 minutes you need to be in a super high speed group, or kill very low level grays.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Don't waste your money or time with these.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kwentavius</DIV>

<DIV>awww was also hoping for some spell or stat boost.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanks for the info</DIV>
<DIV>Rumor is that completion of all 18 will unlock an old EQ ability based on your EQ2 class. It's not impossible to kill 20 undead, there's tons of groups of them in the castle in the Forest Ruins. I've done 6 tomes myself.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just for fun, what would everyone pick to be their old ability from EQ?</DIV><p>Message Edited by Kerik on <span class=date_text>02-15-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:04 PM</span>

<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would pick a SoW spell, or My old damage shields the ones that also dmg any mob attacking you, can't remember the names but you buy them in PoK.</DIV>

Thats easy. I want the endless quiver. I forget which AA it was, but you put in one arrow, take out as many as you like <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>Okay, dumb question of the day:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How in the heck do you use scrying stones?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And what rainbow light thingies on the ground?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've been wondering and this has really piqued my interest!!! Any help/hints are appreciated! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>You can buy the scrying stones from a guy (can't remember his name off the top of my head I'm afraid) at the docks in Nek. As far as I know he's the only person who sells them. You use them on the rainbow coloured lights that emanate from the ground - they seem to appear randomly in places like TS. You'll see them just glowing...</DIV>

<DIV>Right on - thanks! I've been wondering what in the heck those stones were for. I can't recall having seen any rainbowy lights on the ground, but now I'll be watching for them. Seems like I'm spending all my nights in TS so I'm bound to stumble across one sooner or later. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
<DIV>Ok.. not to give any spoilers... but if you look closely you will see there are 4 sets of books.. each set has 4 volumes in it.. ie journeman to master... if you were to complete all 4 volumes.. one might get a reward.. you might also find it is a pain to get the master one to drop.. i got a couple to drop in Zek at the rainbows.. you can be robbed and pay the 20 gold they are asking on markets for the master book to each set.. or just keep lookin..</DIV> <DIV>I know i will keep looing as i have completed two full sets and found it worthwhile.. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
