Mid Range Poisons

<DIV>I've got a 28 Ranger and I'm having a bit of trouble finding poisons (yes, I know they a bit bugged, but anyway...). So far I've been able to find three kinds - ones that require 50, 100 and 200 skill in poisoning respectively. My skill is currently at about the 140 ish area, so the 50 and 100 mark poisons are greyed out. But at the same time, I've got a long way to go before I can use the 200 skill ones.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Question is, is there a mid range level poison anywhere that I'm missing? I've looked in the shops and on merchants (have also tried the broker and the fence, but player made poisons are basically non existant on Lavastorm) and not found anything. I could just be trying in the wrong place. Or is there a way to get my skill level up to 200 so I can use those?</DIV>

<DIV>Store-bought poisons are badly designed in this respect.  The best one you can use has a minimum skill of 100, but also a mastery skill of 100.  So basicly your poison is being resisted as if you were level 20, which makes it mostly useless at your level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You do have an alternative, though.  Alchemist-made poisons have a minimum skill of 1 and an mastery skill of 50, 100, 150, etc.  If you use an alchemist poison with a mastery of 150, it will scale to your skill of 140, and land nicely.  (These should con as yellow or orange when you inspect them.)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now on the live servers, there's no way to filter the broker directly for poisons.  For now, you can search the market for "Translucent" and look for the viscious-sounding names, or try searching for the names from Erasmus' poison guide: <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=31&message.id=1500" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=31&message.id=1500</A> .  You can also try talking directly to alchemists, but be aware that many of them don't know much about poisons.</DIV>

<DIV>The 100 level ones might proc for you.  I get mostly resists with them at 28, but sometimes they stick.  At 30 you can ust the 150 level.  These are on the 2nd floor of the alchy shop in S. Is the 100 skill poison a tier 2 poison? My ranger is also an alchemist and I want to get that going, any info that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to make poisons somewhere between 20 and 30 in alchemist.
