I have gone through most of the content in the game, done quite a few quests... This game was designed for care bears. It's not hard if you spend a lot of tieme doing it. One of the problems with making a game for casual players, hard core players blow through it. The pet is no different than the others, it's really nice. And at 50, no, just upgrades.

That damage only comes from the 4-archetype rare HO, if a ranger completed it with an 800 damage attack it would be well over 2500.

<DIV>Please, dont forget, in order to shut from bow you need take a distance and due soloing its pretty impossible start HO and then short from distance. At this point assasigns have all tumbs up because they can deal insane damage just at place where they are.</DIV>

Can you answer me one question about rangers since you are now 50, im sure many others would also like to know... do rangers EVER get to fight "exclusivley" with our bows? or will we have to shoot some then run into melee and back up and comtinue this very ardous task, of jugling range and melee combati picked ranger because i wanted to shoot mobs not tango with themthanks, Nicrolvl 29 "Angry" Ranger Auraelyun

<DIV>I can answer this by saying we have some nice melee specials along the Shadowblade and Shadowflame line that we would be very unfortunate to simply forget since they do some very nice damage.  We will always have melee attacks.  Otherwise, soloing would definately not be on the table for us.  The great thing about Ranger specials is while in groups, you do not have to be in close and "tango" with a mob - as all (Corner, Shadowflame, Shadowlunge, etc) can be activated from the sweet spot which is also bow range.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And Gratz Kagara on 50!  </DIV><p>Message Edited by Ravi on <span class=date_text>12-20-2004</span> <span class=time_text>06:06 AM</span>

Ok, since some of you just don't know, lemme dispel some stuff...1.) Assassins do get a 5min timed attack, that highest melee hit is from their 5min attack. Ours we don't get till 50, but that 800 damage is AOE. 2.) Yes you can just use your bow, but it is not better than Melee overtime, and it's very expensive.3.) Assassins do more big damage, Rangers do more damage over time - but in the end it all equals out4.) Assassins do not get to do their damage from anywhere, they are parked next to me behind the mob just like everyone else. 5.) Rangers and Assassins do about the same damage with the same level of skills, it's just that sometimes it's more work for a Ranger to reach the same dps.<p>Message Edited by Kagara on <span class=date_text>12-20-2004</span> <span class=time_text>06:57 AM</span>

I never futzed around with the fancier poisons at that level, just used the stuff I could buy at the TS Vendor at the docks

best bow is in my eq2players profile, and yes fulginate are worth it if you want to use all your arrow attacks, otherwise ripped / makeshift are only really worth it for emergency situations.

Feyiron is bettern than Makeshift, don't know hard numbers, just more damage. Stopped using ripped / makeshift for normal damage around level 45
