<DIV>Looking for some opinions from fello Rangers on weapon choices. Assuming you just use piercing weapons (since we have the debuff), do you prefer fast, lower-damage weapons or slower but bigger hitting ones? Here is my arguement for each of them. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Fast weapons: More chances for poison to proc. Less "downtime" if you miss before the next swing fires.</DIV> <DIV>Slower weapons: Less poison procs but larger base-damage hits. Bigger hits when behind the mob using special attacks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For example, which would you use: Rapier with 3-10 Damage, 1.2 delay. or Leafblade with 5-16damage, 2.0 delay? (base damages given, not level-based). </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I dont beleave the dammage of the weapon effects your special abilities at all? Atleast in my testing it really didnt matter.. I always take the faster weapons for poison procs..</DIV>

<DIV>I'll try to do some detailed testing this weekend. This morning before I elft for work I picked up a pair ot Pristine carbonite leafblades. will test them versus the pair of steel rapiers I've been using.</DIV>
<DIV>Weapon damage does not effect the damage you do with specials. The only (kind of ) exception to this is arrows, which effect the damage of bow CA's, but the bow doesn't. Weird, hm?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You mentioned poison, what you overlooked was bladeflurry -- the more you attack the more chances you have to attack even more. Hehe <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so yeah, I definitely do low dam/del weapons. i've never had any complaints.</DIV>
