<DIV>It basicly gives you an extra attack.</DIV> <DIV>Notice when firing your bow, that your toon somethimes does the slashing animation right after.</DIV> <DIV>Nice buff too. lasts 12 hrs or till you die.</DIV><p>Message Edited by michael_rem on <span class=date_text>12-08-2004</span> <span class=time_text>03:27 AM</span>
<DIV>Blade Flurry is like a proc. It's a chance to proc extra damage, not an extra attack. I have rarely seen me swipe for more the same amount I hit for, but it works on weapons, and it works on Bow Damage. So it's definetly something I always have up. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And special note, when you go to get it upgraded, it's called Battle Flurry to tradeskillers. So there might be some confusion. </DIV>
<DIV>I thought it was also a group buff, am I wrong?</DIV>
<DIV>You are wrong. Blade Flurry only effects the Ranger who casted it. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
<DIV>Aha! Thats what that 100 damage proc is from!</DIV>

<DIV>I need to ask this: What is "Proc"? I know that I don't know thus the reason I ask. Thank you for your replies.</DIV>
<DIV>not sure if i even get it right .. but the word "proc" i think is actually short for procimity ( if i even spelt it right ) .. as in procimity mine? .. i dunno .. was just my gues and wot i thought of it over the years ... the concept of a proc is a chance of doing something extra... extra atk .. extra dmg . maybe while ur fighting ur sword might proc a lighting bolt .. and its all by % and chance. not garenteed a certin amount of times durring any fight just a chance it might a few times here and there.</DIV>

"Proc" comes from the word 'process'. As in an extra 'process' the weapon/item/buff has a chance of executing.
<DIV>u sure its process ? cause the mine concept ive had for years is much cooler <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>Ahh, "Proc" is short for Process. Ok, that's better. Had no idea what "proc" was short for. Thanks Ravi and Theory for your reponse. </DIV>
<DIV>I remember the first time someone told me what "proc" meant...I was in North Qeynos, on the top of the bank (you could jump on the wall from Jades and walk over) and someone was auctioning a Short Sword of the Ykesha for 10,000platinum. told me how great the proc was, and I think I said "Cool...what's a proc" -- he told me, it's something that goes off for 75dmg on occasion, then asked "Uhh, what level are you?" as in "duh noob" to which I responded "no no, I knew THAT"(which was a lie)"I just wanted to know if you knew what the WORD came from" and thus, he told me, and I was informed. Wow, that's a really stupid story. I'm posting it anyway.</DIV>

<DIV>I want to make a "blade flurry" adept 3, but no one has it. Is it called "blade fury" to the tradeskillers? I don't wanna waste my silver cluster on a messup. Any info into this would be great, thanks!</DIV>

Correct me if I am wrong..The wording of Blade Flurry is "Grants a chance to to hit the target and another on every succellful hit"To me, this means:If you hit your current target, and there is another mob fighting you present, you will have a chance to hit the current target again, AND other targets fighting you. Which would be bad when having a chanter present.Am I right? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>Also, I've noticed that the proc consumes power, something that irritates me greatly. It seems like an inefficient way to spend it. I still use blade flurry, but I'm not so sure I really should.</DIV>

It grants you a chance to hit your current target again, and again. The wording is misleading but it isn't an AOE. It's essentially an extra attack. You'll see it in your battle spam as "You SWIPE a gnoll battler for 30 points of damage." The SWIPE indicates that your Blade Flurry is working. And contrary to what Kargara wrote, I Swipe for more than my regular auto attack hits.

<DIV>Actually, you CAN hit other MOBs with it (as indicated in the description). I've done this myself. Often I would go into BB to finish some newbie quest (like killing Sabertooth miners). I will pull a group of gnolls at once and hack them down one at a time. Sometimes when I get onto a new target, they are already damaged. Unless we get some sort of Riposte skill that I did not know of, I am pretty sure that is the SWIPE (Blade Flurry) going off and hitting them.</DIV>

hmm guess what happened to me. Soloing in TS with Blade Flurry up. I was in the valley with tons of snakes beetles deers and hawks. Nothing there is agro. I was taking down a deer, but in the middle of the fight i suddenly get attacked by one of the roaming guards! This is why I brought up that I believe Flurry is meant to hit the target + other targets. The WIERD thing is that the guard is not in the same encounter as the deer (they are obviously not group mobs<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )I have never heard of guards attacking anyone like that before.I forgot to scroll back and see what happened tho. It happened so fast, I died, res'd and ran back in anger to wipe my depth off.Im gonna do some extensive testing and log it all - got to confirm this with raw facts. It is very important in huge encounters with enchanters that you do NOT have aoe attack-buff going, obviously.I do not mind the short descriptions of the abilities. What I do mind, is misleading text..What would have been neat tho, is to learn more about your abilities as you grow in level and use the abilities <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> More text would appear on the "examine" of the ability as you progress.

NOW, that being said, I THINK, not sure but will look, that if it is only a single mob the swipe, still works in the fact that you just get an extra swipe at the mob here and there.</DIV> <DIV>But the above is correct, I used to fight 2 mobs and when I would kill one, the other's health would be lower when I started on it.</DIV>

<DIV><FONT color=#ff0000>Either we Have a riptose hidden ability or blade furry is such named item. I was in an encounter testing my hawk and I tuned off auto attack everytime I got hit for dmg I swung back and hit the mob. Didnt get the hawk to do anything in that 30 minute encounter(greys miss alot) but everytime the mob did dmg to me I swung back. I have been told this is not how blade fury works but my results show diffrent ill have to try without blade fury</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>all classes can riposte, even mages and priests.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>its not listed as a skill, and it going off is based on agility, therefore scouts riposte a good deal. riposte will not work on mobs behind you, or directly at your sides. anything in front of you though is open to be parried, blocked (if you have a shield) or riposted.</DIV>
