<DIV>These are what I'm using right now..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://ariesgaming.com/gallery/albums/album01/wpns.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The steel stiletto can be obtained by killing giants in the Thundering Steppes, I have killed a lot of giants and not seen one drop, so I just spam "WTB steel stiletto" in auction and eventually found some sellers, around 60 to 80s a piece.  I have two for a dual setup.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The spatha can be found as a drop on Captain Duranas, a centaur that roams the north bandit camp in Thundering Steppes.  Lvl 22+ group needed for him, mezzer nice to have for his body guards.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now for Kregnok's Axe,  there is a wandering troll near the entrance to Nektulos in the Commonlands, his name is Kregnok.. he explains that his clan thinks he sucks, yada yada.. and that they would think he's cool if you could bring him the head of a giant shaman found in Nektulos.  We got a whole group of 23 - 25, with one 29 berserker and completed this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You go to some area in Nektulos forest with a large spiralling ramp that take you up to a higher area with a forest, inside this forest are huge stone-giants and regular looking giants. (maybe some evil players can help me with the names of place and giants).  The giants are around lvl 25+.  After a while of killing, eventually a giant shaman will spawn, lvl 30^^.  Kill him and recieve the head.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Return to Kregnok and he will give you his axe, but then to hide the evidence that you helped him, he will attack you!  He is also lvl 30^^ and seemed to have a crapload of HP.  </DIV> <DIV>When you kill him, he'll drop a chest with ANOTHER Kregnok's axe, and lucky me won the roll.. so dual wield time when my axe skill hits 145.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope this helps.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Maul on <span class=date_text>12-06-2004</span> <span class=time_text>06:35 PM</span>

<DIV>I looted the Steel Stiletto from the Giants in TS over the weekend and saw another drop, after 2-3hours camping them. Very, very nice weapon. And that Kregnok's axe looks pretty neat. </DIV>

<DIV>I got the axe from the crypt of betrayal.  Too bad it requires 145 skill and I only have 117 skill.   Guess it will stay in my bank for awhile. </DIV>

<P>here is the simple answer... </P> <P>(high damage-low damage)= avg dmg per swing (DPSwing) </P> <P>60 seconds/speed=Swings per minute (spm) </P> <P>DPSwing*spm/60seconds= Damage per second (DPS)</P> <P> Here is an example using steel stiletto </P> <P>8-23 dmg </P> <P>1.4sec </P> <P>(23-<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> =15 DPSwing </P> <P>60/1.4 = 42.9 SPM </P> <P>(42.9*15)/60 =10.7 DPS </P> <P>Enjoy.</P> <P>Message Edited by Cexia on <SPAN class=date_text>12-07-2004</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>01:07 PM</SPAN></P> <P>Message Edited by Cexia on <SPAN class=date_text>12-07-2004</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>01:09 PM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Cexia on <span class=date_text>12-07-2004</span> <span class=time_text>01:10 PM</span>

<DIV>Steel Stilettos - I dual wield them, I've seen others in my grps loot a few, and I've sold at least 4 to the merchant.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nowhere near rare. Abundant would a be more fitting description.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As far as Feysteel. I looted a Feysteel Stiletto off of 'Spike', a huge Minotaur that spawned in the CoB. Not sure the rarity of his spawn. The Feysteel Stiletto is pretty nice but can't be equipped until level 28.<BR></DIV>

Aye, I am using steel stilletos as well, cant go wrong with the speed or damage... I have had 4 on me before.. I personally just use a willow blade of service, for the 1 fight it takes to max out slashing again, then I switch back to the stilletos, considering impale, debuffs our opponents piercing defense, so it seems we are destined to use piercing weapons. I keep slashing up, just for the fact that if some uber slasher falls in my lap. However, I am kind of peeved rangers can't use hammers/maces, considering in the players handbook that could, and they also could in EQ1, I have gotten some nice duel wield hammers, I would love to of used :/As for those Kregnok's Axes, not bad, but yeah, rather have the Feysteel as well.. need to start saving, or praying for good drops <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>I got myself a couple of Feysteel hatchets today after reading the responses.. one dropped from the demon in the access quest to enchanted lands, the other I bought from the broker..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Here is a comparison to Kregnok's..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><IMG src="http://ariesgaming.com/gallery/albums/album05/comp.jpg"></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I guess you have to make a decision of whether or not you want attribute bonuses, or more damage..  I'm sure the .3 quicker speed will make up a little of the difference in damage, but not at lvl 35+ it seems.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I definitely think for economy's sake, the Kregnok's are much easier to obtain, and that can always be a plus..</DIV><p>Message Edited by Maul on <span class=date_text>12-08-2004</span> <span class=time_text>04:57 PM</span>

<DIV>that hatchet sucks compared to the Feysteel axe that dropps in CoB..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Althought 1.2 secs is much much better</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the one that drops in CoB had + 8 Agil.. il get propper stats later.. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Using Pierce or Slash weapons makes no diference to your skills..   Even tho we get better piercing skills etc it works with any weapon.. </DIV>

<DIV>Let me tell you something about peircing vs. slashing.  For some unknown-to-myself reason, I had been keeping a set of each type of weapon on me, and I'm glad I did.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Deep inside Stormhold there is a tunnel system with goblins that starts in the dungeon behind one of the cell doors, once inside we eventually came to this big lizard that ended up being IMMUNE to crushing and piercing it seemed, only the tank and myself were hurting it because we pulled out our slashing weapons after noticing it wasn't taking any dmg.  Had 2 useless monks (at that time anyway) standing there.. helpless... it was scary.</DIV>

This really refers closer to a median damage as all numbers are possible between the high and the low. To get more technical and get an actual average you would need to sum all of the numbers between the low and high value and divde by the range. Thats pretty tedious without some good formulas which im not giving out just yet. Using the range as an inferred median value works just fine but you could easily use the (min+max)/2 and come up with a slightly more acurate dps answer.</P> <P>I was trying to keep it simple and as long as your using 1 method to calc the diference between 2 weps the result will be the same.<BR></P> <DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV> <P>Message Edited by Cexia on <SPAN class=date_text>12-08-2004</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>12:49 PM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Cexia on <span class=date_text>12-08-2004</span> <span class=time_text>12:55 PM</span>
