We had a full group of six last night in Crypt of Betrayal. It was a druid, a shammy, a paladin, myself (level 22 dirge), a mage of some sort (he wasn't there long), and another paladin. We were fighting some diseased corpses (or something like that) in COB and a couple times we got deadly scarabs aggroing on us. Deadly scarabs are blue ^^ to me and NON-AGGRO. I, at first, thought someone was using some sort of AOE nuke or taunt or something. This happened a couple times while we were down there. I started handing out some tongue lashings about people being careless, not assisting, etc. It had to be someone being sloppy or stupid. After about 30-45 minutes of working our way deeper we entered a room with a number of undead. We were dispatching the undead, and although struggling it looked like we were going to make it. Suddenly 3 deadly scarabs that were not-aggro and ^^ aggroed on us. The group was getting ripped apart and when it was just I and a healer left we ran for it. I made the zone the druid did not. We had managed to kill all the undead before we ran. I zoned back in and used a feather to res the shaman who was in the room with most of the people who had died. The shaman waited a moment for power to regain and rezzed the level 25 pally. The pally was standing there doing nothing and the shaman was waiting for more mana. Then suddenly all 3 scarabs aggroed on the pally out of nowhere. We all three died this time trying to kill them. I was furious! I asked the Paladin what he did. I said he had done nothing but was just standing there waiting for health/mana to regain. I asked the shaman did she cast anything. She said no. Then the paladin looked back and said that right when the scarabs aggroed it said that an augmentation song had worn off. I scrolled back and sure enough the song wore off and the scarabs attacked him right away (He was the one standing in the middle of them) Unfortunately, I could not tell which one wore off, but I now suspect it was Crypt's Quiet. After that fiasco the group got thier corpses and some decided to leave but a couple others wanted to stay and would regroup at the zone to Vermins Snye. On the way out the door we were aggroed once again by a non-agro beetle in a hallway on the way out the door. Nobody and I mean nobody was doing anything but running to the zone. Once again I could see where song dropped the moment before it happened. I went up to a mob in Vermin's Snye and stood right on top of them.. buffed with each of my songs and let them expire naturally one after the other. I never got aggroed. It was getting late so I had to log for the night. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Is there a bug or are these scarabs aggro but not properly indicating it?

<DIV>Aye, same [FaarNerfed!] happened to me a couple of night s ago. Down in CoB with a full group. From time to time, a scarab aggroed us. I assumed it was just some one useing AoE's carelessly, but of course they all denied. Now i know why lol. </DIV>

More than likely, it was one of the fighters using an AoE taunt or attack.

Did you read my post? It clearly was not. Three of us were standing there waiting for health and mana to regen after rezzes and 3 beetles aggroed when one of my songs wore off. The tank did not use an AE taunt or ability as I looking right at him and the beetles.

<DIV>The same thing happened to our group yesterday evening in CoB.We didnt have scarabs attacking us while resting/gaining power, but during fights we had our fair share of adds from non-aggro mobs. They even caused a couple of deaths.:smileysad:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When asked everyone denied using any AoE attacks.I didnt pay attention to my song depletion though.....have to check that out next time im in Cob.</DIV>

<DIV>Unfortunately, the healer's (all of them have this I think) de-agro line is a non-encounter locked AE.  While this is a gorgeous thing, it has the very unfortunate side effect of starting agro if none is there.  I.E., if your healer tries to dump agro and there a bunch of otherwise non-aggressive monsters around (even greys!) they will be hit by this spell, and will instantly agro on your priest.  Since it has zero intrinsic agro, the monster will bounce off the healer fairly quickly, for any action taken by the rest of the party.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Not saying this is what happened, but it's one that drove me and my group nuts for a while, until we figured it out.</DIV>

<DIV>The only other thing that comes to my mind is that someone still had autoattack on with a tank targetted, and that tank was tabbing through mobs and set off the agro through implied targetting.</DIV>

Though about the auto attack thing too, but I don't think that happened in the case of when we were resting up the only one near the beetles was the tank and myself and the healer were on the entire other end of the room cowering.. heheI wonder why this post got rated 1 star? Lol not that I care particularly but I find it funny...
