<DIV>Obviously there will always be different opinions on different classes. I am not suggesting that one class is or has to be superior to another. I also understand that it depends of playstyle, equipment and ability.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hopefully that is enough disclaimers :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am Vox, so we are PvP. I almost always play with 2 or 3 people.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I currently have a SK main and while he is fun, he doesn't tend to do enough damage or bring enough to the group to make a significant impact, barring HT. He almost got killed by a grey swashie the other day and he is well equipped. More importantly, I have always played pet classes and hybrids in the past and enjoyed them. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have a Coercer and a Trouby. Both are low level. My Coercer is always the first to die, no matter what. I understand this gets better at higher level for the Coercer. They get some nukes, mez, root, reactives, charm, crack and stuns. They are feared when played well, but depending alot on a charmed mob that can break at any time and must be in the zone you are fighting in, seems like a pain.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As I understand it, the Trouby has ok DPS (probably depends of the weapons), chain armor (do you go for miti or avoid with Trouby?) spells on the run, archery, crack, mez, charm, stuns and snares and good buffs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Whoever I go with, will have the nicest stuff I can possibly afford, make or quest for.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My questions are as follows:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Can you make the charm last longer through higher versions of the spell or AA's? By longer, I mean 10 minutes or so, or is it supposed to be a Get out of jail card?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does charm in PvP make them attack each other? (PCs)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Can they use poisons?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyone use the stamina AA line? How well does it work?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any other thoughts would be appreciated. I lean towards the troub because they will simply live longer. But how effective can they be will also play a MAJOR role.</DIV>

I mostly solo so the added stun and the ability to go invise quickly is really useful. The double attack makes up for not having 2 weapons. The last skill in the Wis line will be nice both when I solo and for those times I group.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any other thoughts would be appreciated. I always PvP with a roundshield and 1hander and I know that the shieldbash, increased block and double attack would be simply amazing in PvP. If I can get my hands on a premier 1hander and shield, I think I'll try it. </font></div> <div> </div> <div>Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Coercers are deadly. They are extremely difficult to beat when you are 1v1 PvPing for many, many classes. Being a Troub, PvPing is extremely challenging, but also extremely rewarding. There's no better feeling than to have someone attack the lowly troub only to have him turn around and beat their [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]. Troubadors are really exceptional in group or raid PvP because of our mez, charm, stiffle and stun combos... mix in a shield knockdown and its even better. Solo PvP is tough, no doubt, but people like Azuresong who posts here regularly proves that its both doable and exciting.<div></div>

I've played with the sta AA up to lvl 70 (before i joined the premier raid guild on nagafen..omg i thougt i saw acappella around somewhere <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ). and it pwns face..having that extra stun/knockback was a life saver many times.. also, you might want to think about going agility aswell; it's been awhile but i believe the second ability in agility is an attack that throws you into invis (being bards we dont get any attacks normally that do that).. Then put the rest of the AA's into wisdom runspeed!. As far as coercers go, alls I know is as a troub, they suck to fight. If they can get just one mezz off, you're pretty much screwed (but hey an extra stun would help that eh).. Good luck, hopefully ya pick troub..<div></div>

<div></div>I have a 70 troubador on nagafen that i enjoy pvping with (it can be frustrating sometimes but it is an enjoyable class) - however i mostly solo pvp as im not too keen on grouping. I have recently rolled a coercer alt, hes at 27 now but working on it.The biggest difference between the two classes -Troubador: Mix between rogue and coercer - you have track , speed, and your more durable in combat. Also the ability to cast on the move and snare - basically you kite - i kite pretty much anyone except rangers, but thats how i play, some troubadors prefer to stay close to casters. but you can outkite wizards/etc if you dont get too many resists and time out control effects.Coercer: Honestly one of the most powerful pvp classes - they lack some of the survivability of the troubador - no track less mit/avoidance etc - however if your out pvping and your constantly aware and have totems up - you can usually spot incoming hostiles.Honestly Troubadors Kite - coercers set up a fight and are more vunerable - however once a coercer has his hands on you with cataclysmic mind and his convulsion reactives you do ALOT of damage - i also think the enchanter/coercer AAs are alot better than bard AAs for pvp =).not sure if this makes sense im really tired but - i plan on having both a coercer and troub at 70 soon so i suppose ill see which one is "better" EDIT: As for a troub vs a Coercer the best strat is to kite with hp regen ( i have AAs in hp regen and the regenerating mental ward) so basically once they get that mez and debuffs off - i just mez them - no attacking of any kind - then run away and waitsounds boring... but ... ya - once debuffs are off i run at them spamming the knockback interrupt - then stifle - then debuff with snare and lores - then start stunning/knockback as much as possibly until they mez you again - one strat to test would be casting a few maintained debuffs so that when they use catalysmic mind it will break mez - but if you have high hp regen and the wards it makes it possible - hopes this helps lol... yeah i know you werent really looking for a troub vs coercer fight breakdown but... i think i should just go to bed tbh<div></div><p>Message Edited by Qwestionator on <span class=date_text>12-18-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:16 PM</span>
