First off I want to appologize for making a post like this, because im sure there already is many many posts like this. Anyways, I play a lvl 55 warden and am enjoying it a lot. but i only play it when my friends log on and want to group; or i know there is a group that is in need of a healer. I enjoy grouping a lot more then soloing, i guess i just hate the loneliness if i solo. so i have decided between troubador or dirge. i know i could just try both of them and see what happens, but i dont have all the time in the world.so far all i know is the dirge has a battle rez at like 50 or so and the troub gets a mez. also know the dirge deals in disease stuff and the troub is i dont know. anyways, if anyone has any more info they would like to give me on knowing which class to go, that would be much appreciated.

Troubadours' mez is worth [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] at the moment. Although you said you prefer groups over soloing, I'd like you to realize that IF you ever want to solo, you won't be able to do it (well) with the Troubadour. The widespread opinion, at least of the people who post here, is that Troubadours are quite nice in the lower to middle levels, but don't scale well at 50+ so the "endgame" sucks a bit. Despite my rants and complaints about Troubadour, I still like him - or maybe it's just the company/raids at the high levels and the class doesn't matter all that much, not sure.

However, in full groups there is rarely NEED for mezzing, and its pretty useless in normal group situations as is.Of course that leads to another subject of the game being too easy but well... If EQ2 was harder and you NEEDED to mez stuff in groups or you wipe... I might even smile for a second.

I had the same question myself and went with troubador. You can read the discussion here

Basically for me it came down to wanting to buff the casters more then the melee. The dirge is great for buffing melee fighters and the troubador will debuff mobs against magic and then buff the casters for stronger spells and focus.

Do you think you will be grouping more with Casters as DPS or with scouts as DPS? That could help you decide.

I wonder what's up with that, as if "fizzle alone" wasn't annoying enough (Yay for fixing the latter with EoF )
