<DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Overview:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>A troubadour is a very boring class to play, but to make up for it, a troubadour does low damage. People say they want troubadours in group, but they lie.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Strategy:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Since nobody wants troubadours in groups, your strategy is to make friends with a healer - healers are always wanted in groups. How you do this is up to you, but the best way is to marry a healer (that's what I did.) Once they marry you, they have no choice but to let you in their groups. Just don't remind them about the time you ate all the chocolate chip cookies.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Once you have your healer friend, you will start getting groups. While in a group, </FONT><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>prepare for the day that your healer is sick, and you still want a group. Push hard to make people feel lucky for all the buffs you provide. If the healer isn't getting any aggro, say "Boy, that hate-reduction song is really working." If the healer gets aggro, say "Sorry, I tried dropping the hate-reduction song to see if it was having any effect. I'll keep it on now." Pay compliments like "With the damage-add song on, your damage really rocks." Swashbucklers and Brigands will eat it up.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Try to switch buffs every few minutes to help the group notice you are there and that you are trying to accomodate the group's needs. Say something like: "Gonna drop the defense song to use the reflection one; it's a must-have if the named pops."</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Things to do to reduce the boredom:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Pay everyone back for playing characters that are more fun than yours. Never evac until at least one character has died. If people get upset, say "Sorry, I tried to evac sooner, but I was stunned."</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Charm the last mob just before it's dead. When your group stands around wondering what happened, act like you don't know either.  If someone in your group knows troubadours have charm, just say "Ha! I don't even have charm on my hotbar."</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>Frequently asked questions:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face="Bookman Old Style" size=2>1. The best way to play a troubador is put up your buffs.  Autofollow on the tank.  Then AFK and go make coffee.  No rush to get back. Have lunch if you like.  <span>:smileywink:</span><div></div>

<div></div>Thanks for the fun thread <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I don't know if it fits in, but one funny moment for me was in an RP group... While with them someone had MissTold to the group a tell for the leader asking if they could  replace the useless troub with a fury. Well, we were running down Sol Eye and we stopped around the corner from some giants. And the group asked me for some specific buffs.. so wide eyed I replied.."Play my music NOW?? Why they would hear me and come running- I didn't join up to die! I'm following you around so I can finish my new book!"But that wouldn't help keep us in groups eh? <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />How about:"Wow! With that mana regen up at least we outlasted the dragon for power... even if it did take 40 minutes!"

<DIV>you want boredom try playing a tank... talk about auto-pilot. stand in front of mob, keep hitting mob, mob dies taunt a few times. at least with a troub you can use cheapshot and bump etc and actually move aroudn the mob, using position attacks. or the amount of buffs we have you have a wide range of setups possible to try. I rarely use Aggro song, itslike the biggest waste of a slot possible. if you have aggro problems find better players to group with  :p if  you want excitement in a group stop being lazy and use mez, or in times of badness mezz a number of things at once.  in most groups i end up being the hero because when we get the second and third yellow ^^^  smacking our tank and the group sees my mezz macro... they see why we are there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>but of course then there are the idiots normally from those huge guilds, who decide to be heroes and ignore the mezz macro and cause a few wipes... [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] its good to see them die *giggle*</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>sure i have posted things inthis forums to show im upset at certain things with our class, but it is what i choose to play and have been doing for over two years. though the original post was mildly entertaining talk about focusing on the negatives :p</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>or my favourite three groups in a row in Valdoons... do you want me to mezz one of the pair of mobs kill one at a time to be safe. HERO (er tank): Noooo we are cool.</DIV> <DIV><insert much death> .... sit around for ten mins working tryign to work out how to get through flames... TANK: okay when we pull one, if your not too lazy mind actually doing your job and mezz one</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>see what more can you asked for, serve a purpose and still get yelled at <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV><p>Message Edited by Blakeavon on <span class=date_text>01-15-2007</span> <span class=time_text>09:21 AM</span>
