Swindler's Luck - would not take hold

My apologies if this is a frequent question. I didn't find anything in search.Most of the time when I trigger Swindler's Luck, I see the message "would not take hold", and the HO is wasted. In my log I get the text "Your target is already under the influence of a more powerful spell."I have tried dropping all of my permanent buffs, avoiding specific spells / abilities, and fighting naked to avoid imbued effects. Nothing seems to make any difference. In those fights where the RNG works against me and triggers Swindler's Luck every time, my DPS is horrible.What am I missing that's interfering with this HO?Thanks!<div></div>

Resulting effect from HO's are depending on the level of the spell used to finish it, so if you had a swindler's luck finished with a say lvl 67 spell, a second swindler's luck would only take effect with a 67 or higher spell. The spell you use to finish it actually defines how powerful the buff/dmg/whatever is.

I see. So the HO might be being blocked by an earlier use of Swindler's Luck? I have been watching my buff bars carefully, and I haven't seen that - but I'll watch again.<div></div>

i get that but normally its cause i already have it up. weither the lvl of the spell to complete effects it i don't know. but swindlers luck is uber common and if it drops u can get it up super fast. bravo's dance is im after anyhow.<div></div>

i think it's just because you already have a luck on you. it's been happening to me too (the text is darn annoying).still in the lower levels this time around, i find myself shifting for ringing blow a lot... the extra damage + faster recast of the heroic opp starter is a good combo for soloing.just remember that you can use a "coin" ability a second time to shift the opp outcome before you finish it.<div></div>
