<div></div>Howdy,I figure I'll address the troubador community with this question in order to get the most out of the claymore quest rewards.I'm currently debating between getting the <a href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/items/QeynosRapier.php" target="_blank">Qeynos Rapier</a> and the <a href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/items/QeynosCutlass.php" target="_blank">Qeynos Cutlass</a>.<font size="3">My troubador is not equipped with any raid gear atm.</font>The decision shouldn't be too hard to be made because of that.. So, I'm just wanting a second opinion on that level.Apperciate the advise,Sincerely,Codered<p><span class="time_text"></span></p><p>Message modifié par CodeRed le <span class=date_text>01-10-2007</span> <span class=time_text>01:44 PM</span>

<P>The dual wielder sucks, but if you're raiding you shouldn't be using a 1-hander anyway. It'll do until you get better to drop though.</P>
To complete the claymore quest series you MUST go through numerous raid zones, therefore your trouba would get some raid equipment during this time anyway.like scaf said- you should be using a dw if you are raiding, and you need to raid to get this reward <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div></div>my eyes! it burns! damnit baggler fix your posti like a 1h option a lot so i dunnoQeynos KiljaITEM -1224957114 2129995591:Qeynos Kilij/aaslo called the Qeynis rapieri wish there was a dagger tho, as that would help my bumping playstyle. i also dont use DKtM and have a round shield on most of the time, i have the block and parry skills so having 1 really helps<div></div><p>Message Edited by Bobbiac on <span class=date_text>08-29-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:00 AM</span>

I would also take the cutless. At the moment I am having Absolution and the Adamantine Dragonfang. The weapons are both pretty nice, but as they are both piercing I can use my Turnstrike AA ability atm. Wurmslayer is also piercing. The cutless is one of the very few good dual wield slashers. (at least I have only seen very few so far)<div></div>

<DIV>There seem to be very few 1-handers as good as the Q. Rapier. So, IF you are a sword and board type, regardless of raiding, I'd go with the rapier and get your raiding DW's elsewhere. No raid is going to fail or succeed because the Troub was using a slightly better melee weapon. You solo, however, that's a different story. You might do a lot better with an endgame 1-hander and the AA STA line filled out on many an occassion. Not to mention PvP/dualing/arena IF you do any of that. If not, well, it's a nice cutlass.</DIV>

<DIV>Why shouldn't I be using a 1H on raids? Typically I will DW Dirk of Negativity + Adamantine Dragongfang for better DPS. But on a named I often find myself going "sword & board" for two reason:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(1) if bad AoE, I want to use Turnstrike AA which requires a sword (and rapier does not count) -- my best DW sword at moment is Sword of the 4 Winds (lame)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(2) On name with high resists required, I will often use a shield (e.g., Coal Encrusted Shield or Archaic Roundshield) and 1H (went with Ardent Scimitar of Krangoris over Scimitar of the Slashing Claw).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With this set up I end up with just 350-450 dps, but I only die on total wipes. I figure I do more alive and buffing / procing the mages than I do squeezing a little higher dps and perhaps dying if I miss a joust.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>is this just too conservative? Are other troubadors (note: our dirges out dps me by 100-300) doing significantly higher dps without being totally fabled (i am at ~50% of slots)? My spells and CAs are basically all mastered and my intelligence is always maxed out on raids.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Cheers,</DIV> <DIV>Aelder</DIV>

Basically, any bard at the AA cap should be specced for str/wis if they want to help their raids/guilds to the maximum effect. I guess the only caveat to that "absolute" would be guilds that only stack mages with a troubador (and therefore don't typically get in AE range for end str line ability).</P> <P>As much as I understand the benefits of "Blade dance" I'm still saddened that I'm not (wis/sta) specced.</P>

It works for the primary hand, anyway ... so you can dw your piercers, swap Sword of the 4 Winds for Dirk of Neg, hit turnstrike and swap back very quickly and without fuddling with your inventory. To the OP -- since you're not equipped with any raid gear, I'm assuming that mean you're not a raider and likely won't get any of the better dual wield slashing weapons available ... so go with the cultass ... or get the rapier if you sword and board. Doesn't really matter.</div>

I guess my whole problem with this post is how the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] would somone who doesnt raid ever get a claymore reward ? Non-raiders dont get claymores thats kinda the point of an epic quest. Myabe your just looking off to the future. In that case if you raid enough to finish the quest your gear should improved and will allow you to make a better descion to what weapon TYPE you need. Tho i still hold that the 1 hander is far superior to the DW , the duel weild is not as junk as it once seemed now. Avoiding one ae in a long encounter where the ae is unavoidable rapage can make a big differnce(matron comes to mind.) Also the secondary effect is not great (10%come on) and i wished it proced on attacks or cas/hostile spells(hi Devs im a bard we cast both CAs and Spells and im tired of my proc items being half as effective) instead of just CAs. On the up side debuffing CA dmg % is a whole new kinda debuff for the game and they probally wanna keep the %s low so they have room to grow. I do like that it is aleast a new effect.
