<DIV>... shouldn't need AA's to outrun mounts.</DIV>

<P>I guess this is a matter of opinion. Selo's alone nets me 34% run speed. My carpet has 40% run speed. Selo's plus my Journeyman's Boots nets me 44% run speed. I'm happy.</P> <P>Not saying I wouldn't be happier with a 40% Selo's, but still.</P>

If the devs aren't willing to give even higher run speed bonuses, they could increase other aspects. I'd like to see a higher level version become a raid-wide run speed buff, or give group members safe fall. Or even something simple, like small increments of in-combat speed increase. At one time, getting new upgrade spells wouldn't just give higher damage numbers, but would almost always do what the spell 14 levels ago did, and add some new effect.<div></div>

I've already seen pictures of new mounts (cats) with 56% runspeed <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV> <DIV>With DKTM (4), Jboots and selos I'm at 50%; I can keep up with the pack for the moment.</DIV></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm  sure we'll see an upgrade; it'd be the ultimate bonkers thing to see a bard on a mount. Though on current track record, perhaps I shouldn't tempt fate.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mim</DIV>

<P>100% agreed here . I mean it is one of our prime abilities and other classes can get an item-mount that allows them greater ability in this area . I dont see any other prime aspect abilities of a class given out like ours , and dont give me it cost plat. If you say that as an excuse then how about items that allow us to heal as good as a preist - or maybe items that  allow us to summon an uber pet to help us out . In the end what makes us unique is given out at a price and excussed like it is ok cause it cost alot. In my opiom it is not ok.</P> <P>Well<EM>  I would more than gladly pay for other classes prime abilities to - and alot at that. But we know for some reason it wouldnt happen so WHY IS OUR ABILITY GIVEN OUT LIKE IT IS OK? And futher WHY IS IT OUR ABILITY IS OVER SHADOWED BY THESE BOUGHT ITEMS - mounts should not be greater reguardless of the cost to buy them.  </EM></P> <P><EM></EM> </P> <P><EM>BARDS SHOULD BE THE FASTEST THINGS ON THE GROUND. -  IT IS ONE  OF OUR PRIME ABILITIES - AND IT SHOULD NOT BE OUT DONE BY ANY MOUNT PERIOD .</EM></P><p>Message Edited by Rainfinder on <span class=date_text>06-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:39 AM</span>

I can get to 56% with maxed out AA, Selo's and Jboots.  But as someone who played a bard in EQ1, I still want more.  :smileywink:

<DIV>Since when was runspeed a "prime ability" of troubadors?  .  Don't say "since EQ1" because this isn't EQ1.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Don't even try to say giving other classes mounts is like giving us heals.  We didn't even get it until LU13, so mounts actually came first.  Runspeed is just runspeed.  It doesn't make or break fights.  In fact, it doesn't even work in fights.  It just lets you move a bit faster.  </DIV><p>Message Edited by vinterskugge on <span class=date_text>06-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>03:08 PM</span>

It's never been said that Bards are supposed to be faster on foot than anything else in the game. I have no problems with mounts being faster than Selo's. Doesn't bother me a bit. I have no problem with shorter term item buffs (totem, swill, etc.) being as good or nearly as good as Selo's. Droag swill is a little better, but it's also finite, since the quest is not repeatable.(Also, there are also a huge number of items that provide buffs similar to other classes "prime abilities" (charm, resists, heals, mana regain, damage shields, etc.). Are you campaigning to have all of those items removed from the game, or nerfed into uselessness?).All that being said, yeah, we probably should get an upgrade (maybe 2 upgrades -- one around level 50, one around 64).<div></div>

<DIV>Everone plays the game for differant reaasons - I play to have fun - and yes imo run speed is an important aspect of bards. Just like 90% of the ideas in Eq2 are from Eq1 - both in story and ability bards should live true to some of their original abilities and run speed is one of them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of corse this is my opinion and like each of you - we all have the right to expess them. I have always considered selo's a prime ability - it set us apart and made us unique in that area. And yea the devs seem to think we deserved it to - they gave it to us after all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And who says it is not a prime ability ?  Does it effect combat - who cares - it is not why I like it and why  many others enjoy it as well. Combat should not be the reason it would be a prime ability . Many people have asked for the upgrade - so I am not alone on this subject.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And dont say this or that ? - now come on - each of us has the right to use these forums to express our ideas - you dont have to agree and thats fine .I have many friends  I dont agree with on alot of aspects - still my friends tho.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bards have no dps really - maybe if you get fabled out AND focus every item twards dps you can get decent numbers . And yea we have some decent buffs - but im looking at the run speed as one of our better aspect we provide - both for groups and our selfs. Will always considered this a prime ability.</DIV>

"And yea we have some decent buffs - but im looking at the run speed as one of our better aspect we provide - both for groups and our selfs. Will always considered this a prime ability." If your group or raid members consider this one of your prime abilities, then you might want to rethink how you play your troub.. <div></div>

As far as raids go - run speed is pretty much nil  except for those long runs back to the final mob in a instance - but in groups - it has made the day when training through places . So ya I have alrdy thought out how I play my ttrob.

<DIV>Until you define what a "prime" ability is, it's tough to say whether run speed is one for the troubadour. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would define "prime" ability as the one that I think of when I define the class. When I think troubadour, I think "speed class," so I guess it would be a prime ability for me. Obviously, it will be strictly a matter of opinion.</DIV>

I dont know where youve been but in EVERY game that has featured a BARD class, they have always had faster run speed buffs/spells compared to other classes.  Its a bard trait to have fast run speed, and we do need an upgrade.  <div></div>

<DIV>We DO have the best run buffs though.  Who cares if mounts can run as fast?</DIV>

but why does selo's stop upgrading at 41? i'd expect 40% at lvl 55 and 44% at lvl 69.

Did you ever notice how anything someone is not happy with it turns into the class defining ability of the moment?Never been worried about horses that can run faster, heck just bought one of them for the hell of it. I'm suprised there isn't a RoR class defining broken song thread. If you are defined by how fast you can run, might consider looking at how you play your character.<div></div>
