I currently have a level 11 troubadour and am wondering if I should stay a troubadour or betray and become a dirge. Now before you say just start a new char. that is a dirge and see what the difference is let me give you a little back ground. I just have a friend that gave me some gold and I spent it on this char. and it was attune so I cant give it to another char. that is why I was thinking about betraying. So far I love the troubadour but I was reading that they suck now that there mez and charm got nurfed. I live the idea of being able to buff both casters and fighters(haste in mean) and I like the idea of charm even if it is only for a short time. I was looking at dirge and they get some good stuff but not much for the casters. I want to be able to solo a bit. I not talking about soloing the biggest badest monster but solo still and I want to be good in a group. It seems to me that dirge would solo better due to the fact they get more melee buffs. But the troubador seems to be more what I am looking for because of the buffs and the charm(short as it may be). Now that being said I guess what I am trying to say is from what I described should I stay a troubador or betray and become a dirge. I also like debuffs. Thanks in advance

Message Edited by mdavis on 06-17-2006 03:20 PM

First off, it will be easier for you as a Troubador to adjust to the new changes because, well, to be honest, you've not experienced either of the things that were majorly changed. You also don't get a mezz until level 50 so it'll be a while.

In my mind, bards are just not good soloers... I mean, it's possible to solo yeah, but they aren't exactly great at it. They are great in groups either way.

I guess if your endgame hope is to buff the Main tank's group in a raid, I'd go with dirge. If you and your friend plan on duoing a lot and you think it might be handy to have a rez between you (if they aren't a healer or other class that will get a rez), maybe go dirge.

Otherwise, I say stick with your troub. I love mine. Even after the changes. If you were level 40 or 50, I might say the game would have changed drastically enough for you to consider betraying but as I said, it's not going to be as harsh for you since you didn't really get to experience a lot of what we lost in this past update.

Just my 2cp since you asked
