My question is...Should I?I have a zerker, L26 and I love it. Im looking to start a second character to play when my buddies arent on. Basicly, I love the tank thing. But for my second char I want a lil more dps than my tank, and I like tracking and stealth.I dont really want to go ahead and hop the bandwagon and play a ranger/assassin.  I want to benefit my party, I dont want to hurt the server by rolling an already over played class.I thought troub might be good for parties, have average/decent solo ability. and some nice utility im not used to on my zerker such as stealth and tracking for some interesting pvp.<div></div>

<DIV>No.  Not what you're looking for at all.  I'd suggest going for brigand or swashbuckler.  Good dps (zerkers do more dps than troubs anyway) and nice debuffs, plus they have a taunt.</DIV>

I dont care about tanking on this character.Id just like a lil dps, average solo ability, and I like to be wanted in groups.Swashy seems like alot of backstabbing, hacking, and slashing. Seems boring and repetitive. The troub seems like it would be a blast to play.As long is they have enough dps to solo alright, intuitive playstyle, and they are liked in groups, I think Id like it.What do you have to say about dirge, they seem like your counterpart?<div></div>

My limited experience (alts etc) has been that Swashies play about the same as Troubs with regards to positional and stealth attacks. The Swashy obviously has a lot more, but the "style" of play is similar. Swashies are just a more active overall. Both classes find themselves watching refresh timers and chaining CAs on longer fights. The biggest difference for me was a much greater survivability with a Swash when you have more than 1 creature beating on you at a time. Also the Swash kills so much faster that it's like night and day by comparison. A lot of times the Troub feels kind of helpless waiting for CAs to recycle and doing very little damage on auto-attack.Right now I am running both a Troub and a Swash. They play different yet similar enough that its fun to switch back and forth as my mood changes. Still the Troub really seems to be lacking a little "something". I really think the class is long over due for some positive tweaks.<div></div>

<DIV>Troubadours and dirges both could use some help. If you are set on playing on or the other, I would recommend a dirge. They were pretty close to equal with the dirge having a rez, and troubie nice CC. The CC is being nerfed, though, so a dirge is looking nicer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That being said, I would recommend a swashie or a brigand, also. IMO, they bring more to a group and can solo better from what I hear.</DIV><p>Message Edited by mbolme on <span class=date_text>05-30-2006</span> <span class=time_text>03:24 PM</span>

I have a 53 troub, 46 inquisitor, 38 SK, 33 Monk and 32 Warden. The troub is easily the worst soloer, followed by monk. The two priests are about even, the warden a little in the lead. The SK is by far the best soloer. If soloing is any part of what you desire, don't play a troub. We do GREAT in groups; we're an amazing group class. But not soloing. Try a ranger or a brigand; I'm thinking about starting a brigand.<div></div>

<DIV>I only play my guildee's troub, and he's not 70, but from 1-40:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Troub is actually a lot nicer in solo pvp than one might expect, but it's a finesse class that takes more practice/understanding to do well with than the average class.  If you don't want to kite and play like a caster a lot of the time, and instead just want to beatdown, you're not going to enjoy troub. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Troub has useful utility for group pvp, and would probably make a better duo partner with any dps class than a soloer.  Their dps is worse than a zerk tho, prolly about on-par with my illusionist.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can understand and agree with not wanting to be rogue/pred #059-62-0548 on the pvp server.  Troub solo pvps well enough to justify playing one solo if you enjoy solo (I do) and want to win with style, but you'll have an <STRONG>easier</STRONG> time as a ranger/swash.</DIV>

with decent gear and spell upgrades a troub is able to solo pretty well. but extremely slow.brigant: i can solo a white con heroic if there's no lag and i get all my CAs out in time, if the mob isn't down in 15 seconds i'll die.trouba: i can solo a white con heroic if he doesn't resist my mezz and snare and there's enough room to kite a little. if i'm running oom after 2 minutes i'll start to regen to fight another 2 minutes and eventually the mob will fall.

Tipa no offensive but i dont know how in the world you say monk is a bad at solo, It is by far one of the easiest classes to solo. You have good dps great avoidance and short reuse timers on CA
