You know this person came to the boards to seek advice and information. If you could learn to restrain your jaded thoughts and actually offer up some useful information that would be alot more helpful. I've seen thread after thread where new Troubs are looking for insight and people come inw ith "Troubs are doomed!" "Troubs are gimped!" and probably dissuade alot of lurkers from actually trying them out. A little class support and solidarity wouldn't be a bad thing. Keep the complaints to those threads.

I've also rolled a troubadour recently, currently lvl 16. Any tips on how to effectively play this class, especially post-recent updates, would be appreciated.

See fizzle, that's the problem. All of us that have played the troubador for a long time see us as neutered currently and even moreso once LU24 hits. I will say this though, bards in PVP are fairly decent. But any kind of solidarity the class had was blown away long ago when we've had our plight ignored so often.

If you want a class that isn't really good at anything other than passive buffs, then play a troubador. We have many pointless songs and spells, so there isn't much to get excited about. Everyone pretty much plays the same songs in the same situations, so the flexibility of the class is gone.

If you feel like "Ra Ra-ing" troubadors, then go for it, but don't get mad at others for speaking their minds when the class they've invested so much of their time and life playing is gutted like a fish.

Congratulations, I'm sorry pretty much sums it up. If you're having fun, then that's what counts though.

Believe us, we'd dearly love to be more optimistic; it's a class we love. But it's difficult now many of us are parked, considering respeccing, or have actually cancelled accounts.

Troubs aren't rocket science, best choose the buff set up that befits your group (ie not melle haste if it's caster heavy), go for int and str with a smidgen of agi, if you're solo the stam AA line is nice for extra defence and double attack. And um, try not to be too despondant.

We get to a good spot with mezz at 50. Oh wait, they're shafting that .... sorry

don't eat the yellow snow. =P

seriously, though...i love my troub. they have their problems (never EVER try to take on more than 1 mob at a time), but what class doesn't have problems? take care!!!

This has been said a million times I'm sure in response to all the bashing that goes on but I'm glad everyone comes here to bash the class because I rarely see another Troub lfg in my level range. My biggest complain in the lower levels was not being able to find a group but since I hit 30 I have not gone longer than 3 minutes lfg.

After LU24 I bet you see loads of troubs lfg. Well maybe not since 75% will reroll to play another class. I am thinking Illusionist sounds pretty good. higher dps, CC, mana regen, only thing missing is chain armor and pointy dual wield and it would be like playing my toon again...

I sincerely believe that the majority of the people who dislike the Troubador class are the Troubadors that post here solely to complain, which leaves A) The Troubadors that DO appreciate their class and B) non Troubadors. The numbers seem to be in my favor seeing as if there will soon be even less Troubadors available yet non Troubadors still like our class just as much. I hardly ever use Charm, it was sorta useless anyway ( in a group setting ), so maybe that's why I don't feel like I'm loosing anything *shrug*

Most of the people complaining about the changes are levels 60+. We have grown to experience and love our crowd control (received at level 50), which you will likely never experience unless you hit level 50 or 70 by the time the update goes live. Believe me, most of the Troubadors who are complaining on the forums LOVE their Troubadors the way they are and are complaining because they don't want them to change. We would like to continue telling lower level Troubadors that, "Yeah, Troubs are great but they get even BETTER once you hit 50!"

The damage that I could do in the lower levels, and the awesomeness of my buffs at lower levels, tones way way down later on down the line. I think it's awesome that you love your Troubador!! I mean that. Mine is my favorite class ever (and I've pretty much tried almost all of them).

I wish you nothing but fun and joy with your Troub =)

p.s. I never used my pet either until about T6 when I realized if I was going to accomplish anything, I'd better learn how.

I just rolled a troub myself (20% from lvl 16) and so far I am loving it, it sucks that I can't solo as well as a fighter archetype or a mage archetype, but the dps output is already insane =P I swear I can out dps lvl 70 templars, lmaooo. Anyways, I rolled my troub because our guild could not seem to grab one, we have a dirge, and I tried dirge didnt like it, less dps more solo ability. So far I have not been let down, and I think I will be dropping my monk once I get to RE level range (35+)
