OK, let me just preface this rant by saying that I rarely post on these forums because I am under the firm belief that none of this stuff actually gets read. HOWEVER, under the circumstances that these do actually get read and the devs actually do care about the game that they earn a living off of, I will post. If what everyone says is true and Sony only cares about making money, blah, blah, blah, (which I feel is just immature people trying to sound profound) then they would not be nerfing Troubadors the way they are now. This is given that if LU24 goes live the way it has been put on Test, they actually intend to lose many many customers. Now, my logic isn't the best in the world but if people think Sony wants to keep customers then they would never nerf anyone and every class would be Godly. With that being said, I do believe that Sony plans that these changes to Crowd Control and procs were in order for some strange reason and they are trying their best to level out the game for all players alike. HOWEVER, the extent to which they have gone to make these changes is quite bluntly IDIOTIC! Now, let me just switch the mood of this post a bit by first saying this to Sony, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!" It seems to me that since LU 13 you have had it out for us in any way possible. If you really wanted to cause troubs to become extinct in this game why not just delete our characters without telling us and say to us "Sorry, re-roll another toon because Troubs no longer exist." Since LU13 we have had our role in the MT group replaced, which isn't the worst change...thats soething I can and DID live with even though I venture to believe that 90% of the Troubadors still in existence chose their class for that very reason. Since that shift in this games history, many classes were shuffled around without any consent of the population of the game. Some changes were good, some terrible. Since that change I have become a drone, a worker bee to the caster's in my guild and I'll be honest, at first I hated it...it was terrible, but over the past few months I have grown to love my spot with 4 or so casters and a healer. It was nice to finally, FINALLY be done with all the changes LU13 brought out and have a steady spot in a group again. However, about a week ago along came LU23 and BAM, Troubs are hit by a mac truck again. No longer will we have Teir 3 dps in a raid which imho was exactly where were supposed to be amongst all the other classes. Now however, we are the bottom of the barrel in terms of our OWN DPS. Sure we add to our casters DPS but not much since our Aria line is about as useful as a mouth just above my crotch. Again, while this nerf was intended to fix Illusionists and Coercers I can still live with it, doesn't mean I am happy about it though. Oh, and on a side note, along with LU23 our one truely great ability, Jester's Cap, became broken and has yet to be fixed...so for the past week or so I have been falling asleep at the keyboard while raiding. Anyways, now comes the real kicker...LU24, Lockeye's infamous Crowd Control changes:Troubador Mez : Same power cost | 20 sec duration (REDUCED by 30sec) | 20 sec recast (INCREASED by 10sec)Now, Im not a rocket scientist but what Sony is telling us Troubadors is that you only intend us to hold 1 mob and in order to do so I have to Jester's Cap (which is STILL broken) myself in order to get a recast timer fast enough to get it on the mob before the 20sec is over. OK, explain to me how this is in any way shape or form logical? Are you gonna nerf Dirges counterpart spell (REZ) so that they can only cast it once every 20minutes or something? How can you possibly look at this game as balanced it these changes go in? These questions are not rhetorical, I really would love some answers. Troubador Charm : Same power cost | 8 sec duration (REDUCED by 7min 22sec) | 1 min recast (INCREASED by ??)*sigh* I have never really used charm partly because it sucks and breaks after like 8 seconds of use anyways HOWEVER, for those soloers out there who rely on this spell I seriously doubt 8 seconds will be long enough for them to get control of the pet, tell it to attack, kill the mob you want to kill, and return to killing the previously charmed mob that now hates the Troubadors guts. Same questions as before Devs. Please, I have the upmost repect for you and the stressful nature of your jobs. But, if you were to sit down with me face to face, and discuss the game that no doubt, both you AND I love, would you be able to keep a straight face while explaining to me how Troubadors are balanced after these changes go live? I will only do one thing for you in hopes that you take my advice after reading this post, I will refer you to this forum that you have neglected for far too long:
http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board?board.id=36
I beg of you Sony, please, please, please do not ruin my gaming experience or the gaming experiences of the hundreds (yes, only hundreds) of Troubadors worldwide. Please Sony, reconsider LU23 AND LU24 or you may be losing alot more than my money to these changes.Ranzal - 70 TroubadorOasis Server - While I'm disappointed in this change, I can almost guarentee that the devs probably won't read something with the word "rant" in the title. If you want change, and I know we all do, we need to go about it correctly.

Whether the devs read it or not if these changes go through I will cancel my two accounts. I play on the pvp server and mez and charm are my two main pvp abilities.

Minni 69 Troub of Nagafen

Message Edited by Noguks on 05-11-2006 08:46 AM
