Know what I like best about being a pvp-bard? I rarely am the one to die. In a group if they target me first (sometimes they do, I dunno whey) I simply hit my deaggro and the tank takes over. In solo if I can handle them I snare them so they can't get away, and run around them in circles singing at them and shooting arrows. In a solo I can't handle, I run... no one can beat our speed buffs! And in the rare chance that they DO catch me, I snare them and run some more! And in the worst case scenario, evac. I most group situations I am the last one standing because I can keep them deaggroed off me, so a lot of times once I'm the last one standing I just run away. Sure, that sounds chicken, but I'm a BARD. Gotta live to sing about it.We must surely be one of the most annoying classes to fight against. We have so many weird effects that it's hard to predict us. Also we are just so darn hard to actually CATCH.The bad part about being a bard: We are one big group buff. We don't do a whole lot of damage. Yeah sure we do decent damage, but not compared to a ranger or wizard. So we are utility. We give the group that extra little bit that they didn't have before. My guild loves me for my speed buffs, agro control, and mana regen. I am a spirit of the wolf totem, winged viper totem, and a deagro all in one cute wood elf package. However, they know better than to rely on me for pure damage, that's why we have our rangers and wizards.

PVP as a troub solo is just about horrid. Currently we just dont have the dps against most classes to really tear up in pvp. I will tell you this in pvp your agro slips are very valuable. Pretty much if a Rooter gets a jump on you, you die or you evac as we just cant stand up to those hard hits and not being able to run and detarget them makes us sitting ducks. If you get the jump on them it just depends. Get your stifle off on the casters asap or you are dead and run in and unleash your power draining abilities. Always keep snare and your depower dot on a person as in a pvp encounter whoever runs outta power first usually loses. The Other main advice i have is to stay away from the healers as we just dont stand a chance against most healers who know what they are doing as we dont have the dps to kill them before they heal up what we did solo usually they will have friends before you can kill them or you run out of power. Melee are pretty easy justkite them and keep using your deagro spell as often as you can. If they get a stun on you and get into melee range for very long you are toast. assassins can be nasty if they get you from behind so never let them get behind you i tend to prefer to try to range kill them because a well timed stun can kill you. Rangers its the oposite just keep them in melee range and they are cake. against the other scouts i usually just try to not let them get the jump on you. In a group we are unstoppable. Really skilled pvpers will go after the troub either first or second after the healer in a group. This is because troubs have the ability to cripple enemy casters and seriously debuff the group. If we land our big encounter debuffs on an enemy group they can bend over and kiss their [Removed for Content] goodbye. Always depower buff you can healers and casters first. stifleing the healers and knocking them out first followed by the nukers. In a good group troubs and dirges border on overpowered honestly. I have often been in groups where we were attacted by other groups of higher levels where we didnt have a single death and destroyed the other group because they didnt ever attack me and let me cripple their healer and casters. Mainly you need to make sure you debuff and cordinate with your group in group pvp attack the healer first with every debuff you have and then get everyone on him. With the massive AGI debuff we have that will just cripple a groups ability to take damage moreso on the casters who already have low life and avoidance. A few of our debuffs also lower defense i believe really crippling those casters making them easy pickings for a well organized group. Most troubs forget that in pvp they are not there for damage but for debuffing so do that first before you ever think about casting damage skills. As for buffs i run in pvp I run Arias as a must since we get so many procs off the debuffs and other spells we use. Also always run power regen. As for the others its more preference on what classes are in the group. I tend to find that melee classes prefer the haste and melee skills while the casters want the focus and casting spells.ALSO never forget to stifle this is such a valuable tool we get that when used properly can end a group vs group pvp quickly. Get the healers first and foremost then work on the casters as a troub since you can do the most damage to them. Watch their scouts though to make sure they are not beating on your healer moreso if they have an assassin or another bardtype class. To the earlier poster your pvp runs for solo arent exactly fair to go by as you are a 60 tradeskiller with a 25 troub so you have the money to spend on fully decked out gear for your level while most people just dont have that kind of money at the lower levels. You also have a bunch of imbued items to boot so really you should tear up in pvp with mad equipment like that against people your own level.

Message Edited by SeregWethrin on 04-25-2006 11:16 AM

Message Edited by SeregWethrin on 04-25-2006 11:19 AM

My troub on Nagafen(PvP) Server is only 15 and I went and took him to commonlands. His PvP record is 10 kills/5 deaths. Not great, but not bad considering that only 2 of those kills were lower level than I was.

I'm liking it so far. When someone runs, you should be able to keep hitting him with your arrows and shouts and eventually get a snare off again.

We'll see what happens at higher levels.

No, not all the kills were solo. I did come up on a couple of people who were in the middle of a PvP fight and kill them, but they were actually beating the other guy, so I did most of the damage anyways.
