Hey all. Im starting an alt and i want it to be a bard. I notice also that Troubs seem to be the least played class so thats also a reason for me playing one. Neway, my question is: How do dirges compare to troubs DPS wise on raids. I mean i know the main thing for a troub is to buff but id like a support plus DPS class thats not a mage and i think this is it. Can neone plz post some parses from raids or give me a link or some info about their numbers on raids. thanks in advance

There's no simple answer. It depends on equipment, spell level, the mobs you're fighting, player skill, etc.In general, it's more likely that a dirge could out-dps a troub on a single target, while troubs have the advantage on multiple mob encounters. In reality, I'm rarely out-DPSed by a dirge on any raid encounter, whether single mob or multiple.<div></div>

<DIV>If you want DPS play an assasin or some other DPS class . Bards arent made for dps .</DIV> <DIV>IN PPTR i did top tier dps tho when POM was up ..which is rare .. <-------------70 Trouby </DIV> <DIV>Dirges had no chance to get close there .</DIV>

<DIV>with all buffs at adept 3 and all dmg stuff at app4 or adept1 i end up with a dps between 150 and 350 in raids as a trouby (troubys suck like hell on dps if they have to stay out aoe range) the other 70 trouby in the guild with all adept 3 ends up between 400 and 600 dps.</DIV> <DIV>we dont have a dirge so no numbers to compare to:smileymad:</DIV>

Thanks for all the responses guys. i really appreciate it. i dont wanna play a ranger or assassian because their boreing. all the do is spam their attacks. I have a brigand for that. it takes more skill (IMHO) to play a bard then it does to play a ranger, assassian. I jsut wanted a class with decent dps with alot of utility and it looks like a troub is it. thanks again guys

<P>I am Dirge and agree with some of what is said here about DPS. Now I am not a DPS nut I have played a bard since the days of UO. In raids for my guild the troubs and I are always about the same area on DPS around the 400 area on my parser I run for the guild. I am a little better equiped then the troubs. This is where the difference comes on to effect thou, I am in the MT group 98% of the time. Which means I have full Def buffs up and 0 DPS adding buffs up. I hit the top 10 on most all fights except thje really fast one or cluster f's. Fast fights I am barely through with debuffing by time the fight is over and the others and I am rezzing to much to DPS. </P> <P>The other day I was late for a raid and they had the group basicly set by time I made it. They said we going to try something new in MT group. I was cool with that don't get to DPS much. Got me in a good DPS group. I rocked numebr two spot for 90% of the time in that group. [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] PETS can't beat them much on max distance fights. </P> <P>The troubs may have been in top 10 every couple fights but hell my group besides pets was the top 5 actually players. Poor Inquisy couldn't get up there. That is how it is when I am DPSing. But Dirges don't get the love cuase they are almost always in the MT group.</P>

<DIV>I'm a troub and just started raiding recently too. My main focus now is to boost the abilities of my raid group and I find myself using a completely different line of songs than if I were in an exp group. No more haste song, no more avoidance songs and alot of times, not even stat boosting songs ( including self). The only ones that look familiar to me is the run song and the mana regen song, hehe. But I gotta say I love it. Of course my DPS has gone way down but I never considered myself a major DPS'er to begin with. Sometimes I even strap on a shield and go one handed and lower my dps even more. The Troub is a utility class and I don't think our niche is for dps, I havent played a Dirge so I can't say the same for them but ive seen what a Dirge can do for a DPS group and its SICK.</DIV> <DIV><BR>I would have loved to have gone down the Str and Sta AA lines, but have chosen the Wis and Int lines as they reinforce what I am already doing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
