<div><div>The first part of my question is if anyone can tell me if the following DPS tier listing is still (or was it ever) accurate. I got this from another thread after doing a search for DPS tiers. I have never seen an official source comment on this tier system so I do not know its accuracy/veracity.</div><div> </div><div>T1: Assassins, Rangers, Wizards, WarlocksT2: Conjurer, Necro, Swash, BrigandT3: Troubadour, Dirge, Illusionist, CoercerT4: Furies and BruisersT5: Mystics, Defilers, Shadowknights, Monk, Wardens, BerzerkersT6: Guardians, Templars, Paladins</div><div> </div><div>More specifically, my question revolves around the total DPS produced by the dirge vs the troubadour vs the Shadowknight. By total DPS I mean just that - all the damage from spells, melee, and ranged combat available to the class. Do both the bardic classes really out DPS the shadowknights (tank variety and new battlemage build trend)? </div><div> </div><div>Thanks!</div></div>

<div></div><div></div><p>I always thought these damage tiers are very misleading. The list you supplied seems to me to be about right IF EACH CLASS WAS SOLOING. If the troubadour is used to their full potential we are much more than just a T3 damage tier class.</p><p>If I am on a raid and I have a caster heavy group then the amount of damage caused by myself is high. I always DoT the target, debuff the target, use PoM to increase my damage and that of the casters around me. I also have Aria's up proccing off the casters spells and I am usually in close combat spamming every attack I have. If we are unlucky enough for the Main Tank to fall, the mob then works its way down the hate list killing the rest of the raid and I am usually very high on that hate list. Must be doing something right :smileytongue:</p><p>The best piece of advice I could give to increase your damage output is max out your INT first and then your STR.</p><p>Message Edited by CygnusX on <span class="date_text">03-28-2006</span><span class="time_text">12:05 AM</span></p>

Troub vs Dirge.... about even as far as I can tell from my parses, if the dirges I had in my groups werent slacking <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Troub support better in Caster heavy groups Diges better in melee heavy groups. For both classes if they are in the right group and you count the damage they make other people do they are nice dps. Shadowknights will outdamage both bard classes when they are grouped with them if they go dpsmode but not by much (this info is still from t6 so that might have changed) but like I said the bards make the sk do a lot of dmg. In any case the difference is minimal. The tier rating you posted is not accurate at all btw. Summoners tend to do the most damage in groups followed by predators then a gap and after that wizzies and warlocks, then brigands, swashies and enchanter classes (although they give a lot of dps to the group too) then furies then bards and tank classes <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> The difference in dps from brigands to tanks is not that big though. You as a well equipped bard who knows what you are doing can do decent (personal)dps just nothing close to summoners and predators. Depends on peoples gear and spell qualities of course. Max int and str for the dps troub <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

A good SK in my experience will break 400-500 dps consistantly, where as a troubador (or at least myself) will break at least 300 everytime and at least go up to 450 (and i can break 800-1.5k in specific scenarios)its first up to the player behind the class that will determine your base/consistant dps will be..then its up to the class restrictions to put a cap on it</span></div>
