<div>I was looking at trying to make a mage assassin type character.  I am not looking for a mage killer here but a character that has stealth abilities and can cast some good spells as thier primary means of damage along with some light  thrown/melee weapons on the side.  All the other EQ2 scouts seem to be out since they lack the spells so I was looking at the bards (dirge or troub) or more remotely the sorcerers (probably the wizard).  Is there any hope for creating this character type or is it not possible?  If it is possible, which class do you think gives the best chance at achieving this.  Thanks!</div>

<div>If you want personal damage, I'd go for Dirge over Troubador, though the margin is fairly small. As a Troubador, I find most of my damage is spell-related with some mediocre damage from CAs and melee swings. Haven't tried throwing weapons though.</div>

The penilty for a bard getting the ability to use usefull spells drasticly effect their personal dps.   Since we are the only scouts with good group spells it balances out pretty well, but solo can be pretty hard sometimes untill you get into you higher levels, then its not too easy sometimes but doable.<div></div>

mages get invisibility but cannot use thrown weapons and have no moves that rely on invisibility to work. They do however, deal lots of magic dammage and get invisibility.Bards on the other hand, have stealth and can use ranged weapons.they also have moves that work off of being in stealth and can use offensive magic.Their damage however, is not very much.If you are looking for a high damage magic class then go wizard, or warlock.
