<div></div>Hello everyone.Just out of curiousity, how close is troubador to the old EQ1 bard (pre Planes of Power)? So far I've heard a lot of ups and downs about the class (and seeing that it's the least posted class board doesn't help my worries).  I'm not really worried about the idea of being a buff monkey or a group utility, or even about it taking forever and a day to kill things.  All of those things I can live with, or I could depending on the answer to this question:How hard are troubadors to kill? (I'm playing on the new PvP server).  I have no problems if it takes a while to kill or I can't ever run around solo, but no matter how you try to paint it, in PvP you are going to find yourself alone and in a lot of really bad situations.  If I can't kill worth a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn], it's nice to know I can at least escape and toy with people for trying to kill me.The cool thing about the EQ1 bard wasn't just the speed, but the fact that you could do all kinds of crazy things that every other class couldn't.  Sure, it took forever and a day to kill something, but you were nearly impossible to kill.So far I've gotten a lot of mixed answers about our killing power, and the boards have pretty much confirmed that we are definitely at the bottom of the damage food chain.  I've also learned that we are (as we always have) been great at group utility.  Just looking for the straight no BS answer about the effort required to kill us. Does the old saying "you can't kill a bard who doesn't want to die" remain true?Keep in mind these are PvP considerations. I'm guessing "group PvP" doesn't help much against stealth gank or nuke squads. Thanks in advance for the help.<div></div>

<div>No, the class is nowhere near as awesome in PvP as it was in EQ1.</div><div> </div><div>The simple answer is that run speed buffs have no effect once you are in combat mode. I still can't get over this and it's driving me up the wall.</div>

<div>Hello fear, i to played a bard in EQ1 up to 65 and 200odd aas , i started a bard in eq2 and got bored with it, Its just not the same.</div><div>Reason being most classes are more balanced now and the game is more group orientated.</div><div> </div><div>From what i have seen (not  played pvp bard myself) Bards can survive well in pvp , however they dont have much killing power, Group pvp they bring a lot of bonus features like power regen  haste and nice  defence buffs , or debuffs and procs etc depending on troubador or dirge.</div><div> </div><div>But the main answer to your question is its ,All down to the person playing ,if your smart as with any class your going to have a good chance of killing and surviving, its just knowing your skills and how to use them. eg learning to stun when players  heal, little things that make a huge difference to a fight.</div><div> </div><div> Anyway good luck <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>
