Just wondering if it's worth upgrading the spell to a Master I? From what i can see it's our only charm song, and I'm assuming that it should be pretty reliable once it has been fully upgraded; so long as it's not replaced at a later level, and we don't get a trait that brings it up to a Master II level.I tend to spend more time solo than in groups, so anything to help in that aspect would be great.

Charm, we actualy get several through the levels, each one increasing in duration as it gets upgraded. Charm follows the same 14 level upgrade rule as most of our spells. Mez on the other had, we only get at 50 and 64.

One more quick question, regarding reliability.I noticed the Adept I version of charm is pretty reliable at lasting a battle or two when charming a con blue or something lower, but anything higher seems to break very quickly. Is this something that happens less frequently with upgraded versions of the song at higher levels?Would an Adept III or Master I be reliable on a ^^ mob? I know anything higher than that is pretty much immune to the spell.

I have the 30's level charm a master 1, you cant count on the durations for any level, its just the intial resist thats upgraded. However I use it all the time, specially for adds when soloing or duoing, once in a while when one of them ratonga's attack me ill keep it charmed for abut an hour while I solo, that little guy packs a mean punch

Message Edited by serenader on 02-28-200609:18 AM

Every time the charmed pet is hit there is a chance for a resist (lower chance as spell is upgraded) so you want to make sure you are the one tanking and not the pet. Just consider it some added DPS.

Message Edited by MrCanoehead on 03-03-200608:11 AM

AFAIK the break resist when pet gets hit does not change as you upgrade the spell, but the chance of random breaking does.If you can find it cheap, I think its a very worthwhile upgrade. The spell sucks horrendously for actually having a useful pet, but it's great to use before you get mez, or if you need to mez then charm in order to rez the healer with your feather/stone/etc or for power recovery.
